Casting call for Sierra Nevada Dance production, co-sponsored by Arts for the Schools and Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park District

Open auditions will be held for Aladdin and Jasmine: A Tale of the Princess and the Street Rat performance, Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Truckee Community Center. Sponsored in part by Sierra Nevada Dance, Arts for the Schools and the Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park District, rehearsals will begin after Christmas. Performances will be held in March at Truckee High and North Tahoe High and Middle Schools.This is a huge production, said Sherrie Peterson, artistic director for Sierra Nevada Dance. Parents and children should come audition, well have all the information to discuss, if it works for them, thats great.Be prepared, wear comfortable dance clothes, something you can move in. The performance will be a combination of dance, pantomime, gymnastics and silent acting no speaking parts. This audition is open to anyone in our community interested in performing. Call 582-1894 for information.Audition schedule:When: Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008Where: Truckee Community CenterTimes: Boys/girls, ages 4 to 8 years, noon to 1 p.m. No dance experience to three years of dance, gymnastics or acting experience Boys/girls, ages 9 to 12 years, 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., no dance experience to three years dance, gymnastics or acting experience Boys/girls, ages 9 to 12 years, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., at least four years dance, gymnastics or acting experience Girls, ages 9 to 14 years, 3:45 to 4:45 p.m., strong intermediate ballet/jazz experience Male/female ages 13 to adult, 5 to 6 p.m. Women should be proficient in pointe.
