Originally a replication of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Santanas legendary early days, Caravanserai has grown to include material from all eras of Santanas 30-year history. From the 1969 hit Evil Ways to the monster hit Smooth, Caravanserai performs music to satisfy Santana fans young and old.Painstaking care has been taken in the recreation of early and new music performed by this band of journeymen from the Bay Area. All of Santanas instrumentation is there including guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, timbales and congas. Peruvian Dance by Duo Kantu and a Cinco de Mayo celebrationIn celebration of El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros, Do Kantu Andean musicians from Machu Picchu Pueblo in Cusco, Peru will bring their dynamic talents to Washoe County libraries in May. The duo, consisting of brothers Carlos Ocampo and Marco Antonio Ocampo (artistic name Too Zampoa), presents history, culture, geography, traditional instruments, music and dances from the Andes and Latin America. Ocampo plays guitar, mandolin and charango as well as the Andean wind instruments quena and zampoa. As a one man band, Zampoa plays three instruments at one time: zampoa, ronroco (big charango) and bombo. Both sing in Spanish, Quechua (language of the Incas) and Aymara (language from the region of Lake Titicaca). This free, all-ages show will take place May 6 at 1 p.m. at the Incline Village Library, 845 Alder Ave. Incline Village.
