Vehicles were allowed to continue past the Donner Lake Interchange on Interstate 80 starting at 6:55 p.m., the California Department of Transportation said.
Chains are also required on all vehicles, except 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels, from Nyack Road in Placer County to the Nevada state line on I-80.

Westbound traffic on Interstate 80 is being turned at the Donner Lake Interchange and Truckee because of spinouts, the California Department of Transportation said on Sunday evening, Feb. 18.
Motorists are advised to use other routes.
Chains are also required on all vehicles, except 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels, from Nyack Road in Placer County to the Nevada state line on I-80.

The National Weather Service Office in Reno has also issued a winter weather advisory for Truckee and Lake Tahoe until 10 p.m. Sunday. Additional snow accumulation of up to 2 inches is expected.
