Cool temps today through the weekend
Sun News Service
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” A cool northerly flow will keep temperatures near the seasonal normal over the next several days.
Look for highs today and Thursday to reach the mid 40s with light east to northeast winds. Morning low temperatures will plunge into the lower teens around the lake with local areas of freezing fog possible in the early morning hours around Truckee.
Skies are expected to be mostly sunny today then become partly cloudy Thursday afternoon as a weak upper disturbance embedded in the northerly flow tracks across the area.
This weak disturbance may create enough instability to generate some snow flurries along the Sierra crest Thanksgiving day but with little if any accumulations expected.
Forecast models show dry weather Friday and Saturday ahead of a weak cold front moving across the area Sunday. Stay tuned to see if this weather system will drop any snow or create driving issues for travelers returning from the Holiday weekend.
