County DA: No charges in fatal shooting
By KEVIN MILLER, Sun News Service
The actions of a Truckee man who mimicked having a gun and drawing
a weapon gave reasonable cause for a Placer County sheriff’s deputy
to fire at him, District Attorney Mike Ferguson said in a report
April 22.
No charges will be filed against Troy Minton-Sander, the agent
responsible for the death of Michael Scott Carter on March 6.
“It is not my function to second-guess Deputy Minton-Sander. It
is clear from an objective review of the evidence that he acted
reasonably,” Ferguson wrote in his review of the case.
