County supervisors to meet in Truckee Tuesday
The Nevada County Board of Supervisors will hold their regularly scheduled meeting in Truckee beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28 in the Truckee Town Hall.
Scheduled discussion includes: 1:35 p.m.: Public hearing to consider adoption of an ordinance establishing new Board of Supervisors redistricting boundaries. It has been proposed that Truckee’s Supervisorial district boundaries be changed to reflect the new population shift in Nevada County since the 1990 census.
1:45 p.m.: Public hearing to consider a rezoning application of Alfred Pombo for property located at Hobart Mills site, Highway 89, north of Truckee.
2:30 p.m.: Truckee Watershed Council to address Eastern Sierra water issues.
3:15 p.m.: Public comment on matters not listed on the agenda but under jurisdiction of the board.
Other department head items include affordable housing programs in the Town of Truckee.
Other items may be added as the agenda is further developed. The final meeting agenda will be available to the public 72 hours in advance of the meeting and can be found on the County’s Web site at http://boardclerk.co.nevada.ca.us.
Prior to the meeting, at 10 a.m., the Board will attend a ceremony to recognize the members of the Truckee Police Department and attend a BBQ.
The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers.

May 20 update: Nevada County COVID-19 cases rise by 66
Nevada County recorded 66 new COVID-19 cases on Friday making the new total 16,474. There were 140 active cases, 16,194 people released from isolation, one person hospitalized locally and 140 total deaths.
