Court for Truckee rental firm co-owner on Monday

After laying low for several months, a former partner of Truckee-based Vacation Property Management has surrendered herself to a defense attorney and is expected to appear in the Nevada County Superior Court Monday. Former Tahoe Donner residents and owners of Vacation Property Management, Dean A. Clark and Lori Koerster, were expected to be arraigned in February on 46-counts of felony grand theft. However, the business partners vanished until recently when Nevada County Deputy District Attorney Bill Cornell received a phone call from a Sacramento-based defense attorney stating he would surrender Koerster at 8:30 a.m. today, Cornell said by phone Friday. Weve been doing a fairly in depth search for these people, Cornell said. Getting her before the court is a big deal.Unfortunately, there is still no information on Clarks whereabouts, he said. This will be Koersters first appearance in court since she and Clark were charged with approximately $100,000 of grand theft in spring 2007, Cornell said. Cornell filed six felony charges against Clark and Koerster last May after clients complained that checks issued by the company bounced. Investigators continued to receive complaints about the companys business practices from homeowners saying the rental firm had not paid them for rental fees, and from tenants who complained they did not receive security deposits back at the end of the 2006-07 ski season. Cornell said Koerster could be arraigned on all 46-counts today, and following the arraignment, she will be booked with a $50,000 bond.
