Incline Village crime log: Teen trying to go 100 mph filmed crashing car into wall

Below are select incidents from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office press log for Incline Village/Crystal Bay for Aug. 11-17.

Aug. 11

Around 11:20 p.m. near the 600 block of Tyner Way in Incline Village, deputies report a 17-year-old male attempted to be filmed by his friend travelling at 100 mph in his car. The teenager lost control of his vehicle and slammed it into a retaining wall, removing the engine and transmission from the car in the process. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. He was later cited for reckless driving.

Aug. 15

Deputies made a traffic stop around 4:47 a.m. at Tahoe Blvd. and Ponderosa, which resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old male on charges of driving under the influence.

Responding to a 8:27 a.m. report of a hit and run on the 100 block of Country Club Drive in Incline Village, deputies report meeting with the victim who told them the crime had in fact occurred sometime during the night.
