North Tahoe crime logs: Man busted for stealing turkey jerky, hot pockets, strawberry ice cream
As a reminder, the Sierra Sun publishes crime logs for the Tahoe-Truckee area patrols of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, as they are provided to the newspaper by PCSO officials, and as time allows. This timeframe of logs, from April 1-20, was emailed to the Sun on June 9.
TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below is a selection of incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for April 1-20, as provided to the Sierra Sun by PCSO officials.
At 12:30am at the intersection of Highway 28 and Carnelian Bay Avenue in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was arrested for suspected DUI.
At 12:45pm on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a male subject was arrested for possession of presumptive cocaine.
At 1pm on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a female was cited and release on possession of marijuana and hashish.
At 3pm on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a female was cited and release on possession of marijuana.
At 5:15pm on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a male subject was cited and release on possession of marijuana.
At 8pm on the 900 Block Northstar Drive in Truckee, an unknown suspect entered a victim’s hotel room and took jewelry.
At 8:30pm on the 500 Block of Village in Tahoe City, a female subject was cited and released on a Placer County warrant.
At 9:30am on the 3100 Block of Lake Forest in Tahoe City, a victim reported that she suspects her roommate of stealing her $400 rug.
At 10:30am at 2501 North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a subject was witnessed driving on a suspended license as he was on his way to court. Subject was contacted and volunteered information that he had methamphetamine in his vehicle. Subject was arrested on 9 different drug and vehicle code charges.
At 11am at 2501 North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a female subject showed up for court with 2 outstanding warrants out of Placer County. Subject was taken into custody and booked.
At 7pm on the 600 Block of Pineland in Tahoe City, a female subject was arrested at her home for 2 outstanding warrants.
At 7:30pm on the 9900 Block of White Cap in Kings Beach, PCSO responded to a battery report between a male and female. The male hit female in the mouth then fled. Male subject was contacted and turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
At 9pm on the 8500 Block of Brook in Kings Beach, pursuant to a report of a male subject passed out in his vehicle, the subject was taken into protective custody for public intoxication. No charges will be filed.
At 11:45am on the 1300 Block of Woodland in Tahoe City, a male subj was arrested on an outstanding Placer County warrant.
At 12:30pm on the 100 Block of Sierra Terrace in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested on an outstanding Placer County warrant.
At 2pm on the 8000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an upset employee punched the computer in a fit of rage, causing hundreds of dollars in damage.
At 2:30pm at the intersection of Highway 89 and Sequoia in Tahoe City, a male subject was contacted while standing and jumping in the middle of Hwy 89. It was determined that he had $96,000 in warrants out of Tehama County. Subject was arrested; during transport he started spitting at deputies and kicked the door so hard it caused damage. Two fresh charges were added to his arrest.
At 2:15pm on the 8700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, sometime in the past 2 days, an unknown suspect tagged that word “SAYO” with spray paint on a victim’s building.
At 1:15am on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a male suspect was arrested for shoplifting turkey jerky, hot pockets and strawberry ice cream.
At 1:20am at the intersection of Alpine Meadows/Bear Creek in Tahoe City, pursuant to a vehicle accident, a male subject was turned over for DUI.
At 8:45am at North Tahoe Regional Park in Tahoe Vista, a male suspect was arrested for driving his jeep into a fence causing damage.
At 11:30am on the 10000 Block of Golden Pine, in Truckee, a possible known suspect slashed a victim’s tires on 2 different vehicles.
At 3pm on the 1700 Block of Village East in Olympic Valley, an unkown suspect stole a victim’s wallet out of her unsecured employee locker.
At 2pm on the 1700 Block of Village East in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect removed a victim’s purse after she left it on the ground as she was unpacking her car.
At 2pm on the 1600 Block of Cedar Crest in Tahoe City, sometime overnight, an unknown suspect removed $300 worth of personal items from a victim’s unlocked vehicle.
At 12:30pm on the 8600 Block of Brook in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect vandalized a victim’s tractor, causing $1,600 in damage to the window and radiator.
At 2:15pm on the 200 Block of Fox in Kings Beach, pursuant to a probation search, a “kitchen knife” was located in the suspect’s waistband. Male subject was arrested for possession of a weapon and violation of probation.
At 5am on the 5300 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Homewood, deputies responded to a call for service because the subject ran out of gas, but the male was not happy with the outcome (he was looking for a handout). Two hours later, dispatch received a report of someone stealing fuel from the fuel station at the marina. When deputies arrived, it was determined that a male subject made up the story in order to get help again. Subject was arrested for reporting a false crime and violation of parole.
At 3:35pm on the 200 Block of Squaw Peak in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect somehow intercepted a delivery of a convection oven without the victim’s knowledge. It was a $550 loss.
At 8am on the 8600 Block of Golden in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect threw a rock through victim’s vehicle windshield. Nothing taken from vehicle.
On the 200 Block of North Shore in Kings Beach, a report was taken for violation of probation. Deputy witnessed male subject jump out of a moving vehicle and run away. Subject was caught and determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges to be filed with the DA.
At 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 28/Fabian in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect slashed two of a victim’s tires on his vehicle.
At 11:30am at the intersection of Grand/Bellvue in Homewood, a male subject was arrested on 2 Placer County warrants.
At 8pm on the 7600 Block of Highlands View in Truckee, a report was taken for a verbal dispute between a male and female. Both subjects were intoxicated and the female half agreed to be driven to a hotel to get a room for the night.
At 10:20pm on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a report was taken for a male subject who shoplifted a bottle of bourbon and some candy.
At 5pm on the 100 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect shoplifted $700 worth of liquor and fled the scene.
