North Tahoe crime logs: Man reports person targeting Bernie Sanders sign, littering


As a reminder, the Sierra Sun publishes crime logs for the Tahoe-Truckee area patrols of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, as they are provided to the newspaper by PCSO officials, and as time allows. This timeframe of logs, from April 21-30, was emailed to the Sun on Thursday, July 14.

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below is a selection of incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for April 21-30, as provided to the Sierra Sun by PCSO officials.

April 21

11am, 8000 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: An unknown suspect drove over a shop vacuum and an orange cone in a construction zone, causing $100 in damage.

1pmn 8600 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: An unknown suspect shoplifted a box of cigars, a lighter and a bag of potato chips and fled the scene.

2pm, 8500 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Pursuant to a consensual contact, a male subject was found to have a warrant. Subject was arrested and booked.

April 22

3:30pm, 2500 Block Cedar, Tahoe City: An unknown suspect attempted to rent to a victim a home on Craigslist. Suspect provided a bank account number to transfer funds into, but the victim didn’t fall for the scam. No money lost.

April 23

4:30pm, 1900 Block Squaw Valley Road, Olympic Valley: An unknown female suspect swung a ski boot, hitting the victim in the back and breaking the window of another victim’s vehicle. Suspect fled the scene and was never located.

April 24

8pm, 300 Block Bear, Kings Beach: An unknown suspect has been texting victim harassing messages over the past year. The victim has been having an affair with a married man, and she suspects the suspect may be his wife.

April 25

5:30pm, 10400 Block Golden Pine, Truckee: Report taken for a physical altercation that took place between two males over monies owed.

April 26

11am, Washoe Drive, Olympic Valley: An unknown suspect spray painted graffiti on a municipal water tank.

11:30am, intersection of Highway 28/Coon, Kings Beach: The victim believes the suspect said, “I’m going to kill you,” as he walked by. Victim has a restraining order against the suspect. Threats report taken.

April 27

1pm, 500 Block, Tallac, Carnelian Bay: A citizen’s arrest form was filed for littering. A person witnessed the suspect throwing garbage on his property and also suspected him of hitting his “Bernie” sign.

April 29

9:30am, 9900 Block White Cap, Kings Beach: Male subject arrested for vandalizing a victim’s vehicle in a fit of rage.

8:15pm, 4800 Block North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay: Male subject was driving a motorcycle and having a tough time keeping it upright during a snowstorm. Subject was eventually pulled over then turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.

April 30

9am, intersection of highways 28/89, Tahoe City: Male subject cited and released on a Placer County warrant.
