North Tahoe crime logs: Man stabs brother after argument over money
TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below is a selection of incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s press log for Sept. 22 to Oct. 5.
The Sierra Sun publishes crime logs for the Tahoe portion of Placer County as they are provided by PCSO. These logs for August were emailed to the Sun on Dec. 1. People arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
7:30am, 3000 Block Polaris, Tahoe City: Male subject showed up at victim’s residence in violation of a restraining order. Suspect was arrested for trespassing and violation of a court order.
11:30am, 2700 Block Lake Forest, Tahoe City: Male suspect rented power equipment using a fraudulent credit card. Suspect never returned the items. $1,000 loss.

1pm, 8700 Block Brockway Vista, Kings Beach: Report taken for burglary. Suspect broke into victim’s residence and apparently had been living there. The suspect’s personal items were left there and a warrant was issued. Female was arrested a month later for felony burglary.
8:45pm, 400 Block Squaw Creek, Olympic Valley: victim’s ex-girlfriend called his place of employment over 40 times in violation of a restraining order. Charges pending.
9:30am, 5300 Block West Lake Boulevard, Homewood: Unknown suspect cut the cable and stole a mountain bike from a business. $500 loss.
9:30am, 200 Block Chipmunk, Kings Beach: Unknown suspect broke into victim’s truck overnight and stole $400 worth of tools.
10am, 8400 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Unknown suspect broke a window to a business but was unsuccessful at entering the building.
12:45pm, 8100 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Sometime overnight an unknown suspect stole a sign from victim’s business.
1:30am, 300 Block River, Tahoe City: Report taken for battery between and male and female friends. Male grabbed the victim’s arm, no visible injury and no prosecution desired.
10:30am, 1700 Block West Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: Male subject was arrested for public intoxication after refusing to leave private property.
3:15pm, 1700 Block West Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: Unknown suspect stole a secured bicycle that was left outside a business.
4pm, 5100 Block North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay: Unknown suspect removed a purse from victim’s unlocked vehicle.
4:20pm, 1600 Block Squaw Valley Road, Olympic Valley: Unknown suspect broke out a window and a light to an outbuilding. $1,000 in damages.
9:45pm, Highway 28/Sierra Terrace, Tahoe City: Pursuant to a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
10:15am, 5000 Block Northstar, Truckee: Unknown suspect stole $1,200 worth of equipment and tools from a utility box in the parking lot, sometime overnight.
10:45am, 8700 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Unknown suspect stole victim’s unsecured bicycle from inside a business.
12:20pm, 8400 Block North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Sometime overnight an unknown suspect broke into a business and stole an $800 laptop.
9pm, Northstar/Big Springs, Truckee: A subject was arrested for pubic intoxication pursuant to a report of a male yelling at employees and staggering in the middle of the road.
12pm, 300 Block West Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: Unknown suspect stole victim’s paddleboard that was left unsecured outside.
8:20pm, 7700 Block North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe Vista: Pursuant to a verbal argument, a male suspect pushed two other males and starting fighting them. Suspect was escorted out of the business, no prosecution desired.
9:45pm, 6900 Block Toyon, Tahoe Vista: Male subject was found lying in the middle of the highway by his father. Subject was extremely intoxicated and transported via ambulance.
7:30am, 8700 River, Truckee: Unknown suspect broke into a residence under construction and stole numerous tools and building materials. $2400 loss.
8am, 200 Block Rim, Tahoe Vista: Unknown suspect broke into a residence under renovation and stole numerous tools and building materials.
2:30pm, 400 Block Squaw Creek, Olympic Valley: Unknown suspect stole victim’s Marine Corps ring from his room.
2:30pm, 2600 Block Hillcrest, Tahoe City: Unknown suspect obtained victim’s social security number to obtain unemployment benefits.
9:30pm, Highway 89/W River, Truckee: Female suspect was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
8:15am, 7500 Block River, Truckee: Unknown suspect broke into a house under renovation and stole multiple tools and building materials.
8:20am, 13000 Block Ritz Carlton Drive, Truckee: Unknown suspect removed victim’s jewelry from the safe in her room.
9pm, 2800 Block Lake Forest, Tahoe City:: Pursuant to an argument over money, a male suspect stabbed his brother and was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
3:45pm, 1000 Block Martis Landing, Truckee: Unknown suspect broke into victim’s residence and stole surveillance equipment.
