North Tahoe crime logs: Several cases of stolen electronics
TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for Feb. 1-28
At 2 pm on the 200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was witnessed vandalizing property at several locations as he was walking down the street. The subject was contacted but did not comply with simple questions and commands. The subject was arrested for resting arrest.
At 12:30 am on the 8100 Block of Steelhead Avenue in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect stole victim’s laptop he left in the bathroom.
At 6 am on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, pursuant to a report of a domestic disturbance, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Placer County.
At 1 am on Highway 28 at Harbor Avenue in Kings Beach, a male was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI. While the driver was getting arrested, the male passenger became belligerent and hostile. The passenger was booked for public intoxication.
At 2:00pm on the 7600 Block of North in Tahoe Vista, suspects forced entry into residence and removed a TV, a video console and games. The suspects attempted to break into another residence in this block, but were unsuccessful.
At 2:30pm on the 7700 Block of Pinedrop Lane in Tahoe Vista, three suspects were videotaped while they broke into a residence and removed electronics.
At 3:00pm on the 7500 Block of North in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect entered unlocked residence and stole over $4,000 worth of computers, cameras and a firearm. All suspects were later apprehended and issued a juvenile referral to probation.
At 12:15am on the 3200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a female was stopped for vehicle code violation and was subsequently turned over to CHP for DUI.
At 10:15am on the 600 Block of Goldfield Drive in Tahoe City, report was taken for attempted fraud. Unknown suspect sent victim a check for $4,000 and asked the victim to wire $1,500 back. The victim did not fall prey to the scam.
At 8:00pm on the 300 Block of Agatam Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was arrested for public intoxication and an out of county warrant.
At 12:30am on Cedar Crest Avenue in Tahoe City, a female subject was pulled over for speeding and turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.
At 2:00am on Highway 28 at Bear Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
At 10:00am on the 3100 Block of Lake Forest in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole victim’s work issued iPad while he was working.
At 11:45pm on the 8300 Block of Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for DUI.
At 3:00am on Squaw Valley Road at Victor Place in Olympic Valley, a male subject was puled over for speeding and was subsequently turned over to CHP for DUI.
At 8:00am on the 6400 Block of Marla Court in Homewood, victim was scammed by a Craigslist ad for rental in Jackson Hole. The victim sent $1,675 for the deposit before realizing the rental did not exist.
At 12:00pm on the 300 Block of Grove Street in Tahoe City, unknown suspect stole victim’s cellphone.
At 2:00pm, courtesy report was taken for the Sacramento Police Department. A male subject wanted to report that his friend slapped him in the face several times two days ago. No visible injuries were seen.
At 4:00pm on the 1100 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect charged $316 to victim’s visa card.
At 11:00am on Highway 89 at Elizabeth Drive in Tahoe City, unknown suspect stole victim’s bike while she was hiking.
At 10:00am on 2501 of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, female turned herself in at the Sheriff’s office for an outstanding warrant. She was cited and released.
At 2:20am on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, pursuant to a report of a male passed out in the lobby, subject was arrested for public intoxication.
At 11:15am on the 400 Block on Squaw Creek Road in Olympic Valley, unknown suspect broke into victim’s vehicle and removed $2,000 worth of outdoor gear and a laptop.
At 1:30pm on the 8600 Block of Trout Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was arrested on a parole hold.
At 2:15am on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.
At 7:45pm on the Highway 28 at Coon Street in Kings Beach, pursuant to a traffic stop, a small amount of marijuana was seized and booked for destruction.
At 12:00am on the 2501 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, when a missing person showed up at the Sheriff’s Office, he was taken into protective custody due to his high level of intoxication.
At 3:45pm on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, victim left his watch on a table and when he returned it was missing..
