North Tahoe crime logs: Suspect scratches ‘KKK’ into vehicle

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff`s Office press log for Jan. 1-15.

January 1

At 1 a.m. on the 1700 Block of Squaw Valley Loop in Olympic Valley, a male subject threw a pint glass at victim, hitting him in the face. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.



At 10 a.m. on the 8400 Block of Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, assist was needed with Washoe County for a possible domestic violence and kidnapping suspect at large. Suspect was found at his residence in Kings Beach. Children were turned over to the mother`s custody.

At 2 p.m. on Highway 267 at Martis Valley parking lot in Truckee, unknown suspect broke window on victim’s vehicle and stole $5,400 worth of ski equipment.



January 2

At 2:15 p.m. on Headwall Ski Lift in Olympic Valley, an incident report was taken for a child who fell off the ski lift and was injured.

At 2:30 p.m. on the 8700 Block of Salmon Avenue in Kings Beach, a male suspect called and texted victim over 12 times in two hours. Report was taken for annoying and harassing calls.

January 4

At 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 at Lakewood Lane in Tahoe City, a female was pulled over for a vehicle code violations and subsequently turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.

At 3 a.m. on Highway 89 at Pine in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspicion of DUI.

January 6

At 7:40 a.m. on the 113000 Block of Star Pine Road in Truckee, an unknown male suspect entered victim’s house just after he left and stole $1,250 worth of personal items.

At 12 p.m. on the 5000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, an unknown suspect stole victim’s cellphone after she left it in the bathroom.

At 11:15 p.m. on Highway 28 at Lakewood Lane in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

January 7

At 11 a.m. on Secline Beach in Kings Beach, report was taken for an incident that occurred in the parking lot. Victim claims the suspect tried to run him over with his truck. The suspect claims that hey both got into a verbal argument. When the suspect tried to leave, the victim threw himself on the hood of the vehicle and kicked the bumper.

At 11:45 p.m. on Highway 28 at Bear Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.

January 8

At 2:20 a.m. on the 85000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was found lying on the ground highly intoxicated in below freezing temperatures. He was taken into protective custody for drunk in public.

At 9 a.m. on the 2900 Block of Polaris Road in Tahoe City, two adults male suspects admitted to vandalizing school property by “tagging” the roll up doors.

At 12 p.m. on the 5000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, a male subject unlawfully used victim’s ski pass and got caught. The suspect turned the pass over to security, who returned it to the victim. The victim does not desire prosecution.

At 1 p.m. on the 2600 Block of Alpine Meadows, an unknown suspect broke victim’s car window; nothing was taken.

At 5 p.m. on Commons Beach in Tahoe City, a female suspect was located driving her car under the influence of alcohol and was turned over to CHP.

January 9

At 3 a.m. on the 200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an intoxicated male subject was found sitting in someone else’s vehicle in the park after hours and was subsequently taken into protective custody for drunk in public.

At 9:30 a.m. on the 2000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, a male subject was cited and released on Placer County warrant.

At 2:15 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect scratched “KKK” into victim’s vehicle, causing $1,400 in damages.

January 10

At 12 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect stole victim’s wallet and used the ATM card to make $400 in purchases.

At 11 p.m. on Highway 28 at Highway 89 in Tahoe City, a male subject waved a deputy to turn himself in for a warrant. The subject was booked on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

At 11:55 p.m. on the 7400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect attempted to pry open a door to a cabin. Victim saw the suspect flee and jump over a fence. The suspect was not located.

January 11

At 2:15 a.m. on Highway 28 at Agatam Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

At 12 p.m. on the 13000 Block of Ritz Carlton Drive in Truckee, an unknown suspect entered victim’s hotel room and took $2,400 in jewelry.

January 12

At 1:30 p.m. on the 8800 Block of Brook Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was arrested on a felony warrant out of Placer County.

January 13

At 2:30 p.m. on the 2501 block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a female suspect turned herself in at the front counter for an outstanding warrant.

At 11:45 p.m. on the 200 Block of Coon Street in Kings Beach, a female subject was arrested pursuant to a report that she threw a shovel at the victim and chased him around with a knife.
