North Tahoe Crime Logs: Vehicle pursuit leads to foot chase through Tahoe City
TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Below is a selection of incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for July 16-31, as provided to the Sierra Sun by PCSO officials.
Following an attempt to pull over a driver for allegedly speeding, deputies report a long pursuit starting around 1:45 a.m. near the 8700 block of Brook Avenue in Kings Beach, until the suspect reportedly crashed into the back of an unaware occupied vehicle. Fleeing on foot, deputies report the suspect was not found until hours later. The suspect now faces a misdemeanor hit and run and a felony evading police charge, according to deputies.
Deputies report a female suspect was taken into custody around 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 near Dollar Hill in Tahoe City. According to deputies, the woman was arrested during a traffic stop when she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
A man was arrested following a 10 p.m. vehicle stop near the intersection of Highway 267 and Speckled Avenue in Kings Beach. Deputies report the man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and driving on a suspended license.
Two men were placed under arrest around 11:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Bear Street in Kings Beach, pursuant to outstanding warrants and possession of a controlled substance, according to deputies.
A woman was arrested following the report of a fight breaking out near the 8500 block of Brook Avenue in Kings Beach. The woman was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation, according to deputies.
Deputies responding to the report of a 2 a.m. reckless driver near the 5100 block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay placed a male subject under arrest after it was discovered the man was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, according to deputies.
A man and a woman were placed under arrest near the 1200 block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City following a 1:20 a.m. report filed in which the man was reportedly arrested for being drunk in public. According to deputies, the man attempted to start a fight with an individual, prompting the arrest, besides his apparent intoxication. While the man was being placed into custody, deputies report a female on the scene was arrested as well for allegedly impeding deputies as the man was being arrested. She was also charged with public intoxication, according to deputies.
A man was arrested around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 28 and Jeffrey Street in Tahoe City on suspicions of driving under the influence, according to deputies.
