North Tahoe crime logs: Woman steals $30 in salad, chicken
Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for Aug. 1-15.
At 5:20 a.m. on the 8700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, during a consensual contact, a male subject was arrested on a Riverside County felony warrant. A routine in-custody search yielded several stolen debit cards and wallet belonging to a victim who thought he lost it the day before. Several charges are pending.
At 5 p.m. on the 200 Block of Laurel Drive in Carnelian Bay, female showed up at her vacation home to find a male subject squatting in her residence. The male stated he rented it from someone on Craigslist for $1,500, but had no physical proof. The male was arrested for burglary and possession of heroin.
At 10:30 a.m. on Commons Beach in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole a new paddleboard sometime in late July.
At 10:15 p.m. on the 4000 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Homewood, a male subject was arrested for hitting his wife in the face.
At 3 p.m. on the 8600 Block of Speckled Street in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect entered victim’s shop and stole tools. In all, $3800 in property was taken.
At 6 p.m. on the 800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect shoplifted champagne and a 23-pack of beer from a grocery store.
At 2:15 a.m. on Highway 28 at Ridgewood Road in Tahoe City, a female was pulled over for swerving and was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.
At 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 at National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male driver was pulled over for speeding and was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.
At 2 a.m. on Highway 267 at Stewart in Kings Beach, a male driver was pulled over for speeding and was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.
At 12:30 a.m. on the 700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, officers responded to a report of a male subject unresponsive in a vehicle. The subject was highly intoxicated and taken into protective custody overnight.
At 2:45 a.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown female stole $30 worth of boxed salads and packaged chicken.
At 1:45 p.m. on Fanny Bridge in Tahoe City, a female was taken into protective custody after being found drunk and stumbling in the highway in the middle of a busy summer day.
At 5 p.m. on the 7400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a male was arrested for punching his girlfriend in the face, causing a black eye.
At 5:30 p.m. on Aspen Street at Lake Forest in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole victim’s cell phone from his vehicle. The victim suspects his ex-girlfriend.
At 10:30 p.m. on the 500 Block of National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect called victim 14 times in a couple hours.
On the 900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, the male from got into verbal argument and took his ex-girlfriend’s phone and threw it at the back of her car.
At 12 a.m. on the 300 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, a male subject stole some munchies in a drunken state and was subsequently arrested for burglary and public intoxication.
At 11:30 a.m. on the 500 Block of National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect started a warming fire on asphalt near a walking bridge.
At 2:30 p.m. on the 5100 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect stole victim’s paddleboard from the beach.
At 10:45 p.m. on Donner at National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was taken into protective custody for public intoxication.
At 2 a.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject walking his bicycle was so intoxicated he fell down in the roundabout. The subject stayed on the ground and started vomiting. He was eventually taken into custody for his own protection.
At 2:15 a.m. on the 6900 block of Grey Lane in Tahoe Vista, after drinking all night at a concert, a boyfriend and a girlfriend walked home and started fighting. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence when it was discovered he punched, kicked and choked his girlfriend.
At 8 a.m. on Highway 28 at Coon Street in Kings Beach, victim was riding his bike when his laptop computer fell out of his bag. When he returned to the area, it was gone.
At 11 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a male subject walked into a grocery store and filled his pockets with an undetermined amount of merchandise and left without paying. Unable to locate the suspect.
