INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Detectives are looking for two suspects who they believe helped a third man in a domestic violence-fueled home invasion on New Year’s Day at North Lake Tahoe.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, three suspects broke into an apartment on the 700 block of Southwood Boulevard in the mid-morning hours of Jan. 1.

A woman, her boyfriend and the woman’s two children, ages 3 and 7, were in the apartment at the time of the incident.

One suspect, Angel Infante-Mendoza, 28, of Kings Beach, was arrested and booked later that day in Washoe County Jail on charges of burglary, home invasion, child abuse and neglect, domestic battery, and battery with a deadly weapon.

He’s being held on $62,500 bail.

Infante-Mendoza is the father of the two children, said WCSO Lt. Jeff Clark. He and two other men allegedly broke into the apartment and used sticks to hit the mother and boyfriend, both of whom weren’t injured and refused medical treatment.

The trio fled in a gray midsize SUV. Clark said Infante-Mendoza took both children with him back to his residence in Kings Beach.

The children, who were unharmed, were returned to their mother after Infante-Mendoza turned himself in, Clark said.

Clark said one of the suspects had a knife during the incident and used it in a threatening manner; no one was stabbed.

Descriptions of the other two suspects are not available.
