Police: Man with handgun robs downtown Truckee bar

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred over the weekend at a downtown bar, police said.

A man entered the Mellow Fellow at 10192 Donner Pass Road shortly after midnight Saturday and confronted two bartenders with a handgun, according to a Truckee Police Department statement.

Police described the man as a black male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing dark clothing.

He approached the bartenders as they were preparing to leave, TPD Chief Adam McGill said Tuesday. The suspect stole an unknown amount of money and fled.
