Truckee Police Logs: 10 of 11 crimes for one week involve alcohol

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Departments press log for Aug. 25 through Sept. 1, along with previously unreported incidents.
Around 2:42 p.m. police responded to a call regarding two children left unattended in a vehicle with the engine running. It was later discovered it was allegedly the father who left the children in the vehicle, following statements provided to police by a citizen, according to police. Police report the father of the children then allegedly struck the citizen's car as he attempted to leave. The driver was cited and released, according to police.
A suspect asleep on a bus depot bench along Donner Pass Road around 6:45 p.m. caught the attention of passing police officers who made contact with the individual and discovered the individual to allegedly be intoxicated. According to police, the suspect was arrested on charges of public drunkenness and was taken to Nevada County Sheriff's Office without further incident.
Attempting to start a fight outside of a Brockway Rd. establishment, police were called to the scene around 8:43 p.m. and discovered the man in question. Following an investigation, police report the man was arrested for public intoxication.

Responding to multiple calls, police responded to a report of an intoxicated man causing disturbances along Donner Pass Rd around 9:15 p.m. After finding the suspect, police determined the man to be intoxicated. The man was subsequently arrested and transported to NCSO, where police allege the man was discovered to be also in possession of narcotics.
Around 9:44 p.m. police made contact with a number of individuals, who, police say, were attempting to knock over garbage cans in Downtown Truckee near Donner Pass Rd. According to police, at least one of the individuals was perceived to be drunk in public, prompting an arrest.
Another call, placed around 9:44 p.m., brought police to a different portion of Donner Pass Rd. on a separate report of public drunkenness. This time police report discovering a woman unconscious on a sidewalk. The woman was subsequently arrested and charged with being drunk in public.
Police were called to Palisades Drive sometime around 5:45 p.m. following reports of a female suspected of driving under the influence after she allegedly struck another vehicle in a local parking lot. Officers arrived at the scene of the accident and arrested the female driver on charges of driving under the influence.
A woman seeking a welfare check for her son summoned police to a Donner Pass Rd. home around 2:35 p.m. Police report responding to the request to discover the man allegedly under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance as well as in possession of drug-related paraphernalia.
Police were called to a Donner Pass Rd. bar around 1 p.m. following reports of bar staff subduing a patron due to his alleged growing agitation with a bouncer. Following a physical altercation with staff, police report the bouncer was asked to subdue the patron until police arrived. According to police, the male suspect was later arrested on charges of public intoxication.
Around 2:11 a.m. police observed a vehicle driving over a curb near Donner Pass Rd. in Downtown Truckee. Police proceeded to pull the driver over where the male suspect was found to allegedly be under the influence. He was arrested on DUI charges.
