Truckee Police logs: 6 DUI arrests in less-than-4-hour span overnight Aug. 18

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s online press log for Aug. 11-14.

Aug. 11

At 11:06 p.m. on West River Street, a male subject was found passed out in a parking lot. He was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public.

Aug. 12

At 12:29 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, a subject became upset over recent family developments and started to break items inside the house. Same subject tossed a folding chair at a vehicle, damaging it. Suspect was arrested on suspicion of vandalism charges.

At 8:16 a.m. on Donner Trail Road, spray paint vandalism was located in multiple locations throughout the park. Report taken.

At 12:16 p.m. on Northwoods Boulevard, vandalism was reported to a fountain in the backyard of a residence. Report filed.

At 2:15 p.m. on Trails End Road, vandalism was reported at a business. Report filed.

At 10:50 p.m., a lost cellphone was found on Brockway Road; it was booked into evidence for safekeeping.

Aug. 13

At 1:48 a.m., a vehicle was reported as driving the wrong way on I-80. Shortly after, a vehicle matching the description was located driving within town limits and was stopped. Driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 12:35 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a person reported the theft of his unlocked bike from in front of his residence overnight.

Aug. 14

At 1:07 a.m. at an undisclosed location, a traffic stop on a vehicle led to the driver being arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 1:26 a.m. on Ponderosa Drive, officers investigated a domestic dispute involving a female throwing a mason jar at a male, cutting his leg. The woman then bit the male in the thigh. She was arrested on suspicion of assault.

At 7:33 p.m. on Snowpeak Way, a male subject was found behind a building allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital for treatment, and he was cited.

Aug. 16

At 3:33 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers responded to a vehicle versus cyclist accident. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

Aug. 17

At 12:27 p.m. on Indian Jack Road, officers spotted a male adult walking away from private property. Male was identified as a sex offender from out of the area. Man was released after he stated he would register with the state of California within the specific required time limits.

At 1:18 p.m., officers took a counter report for an ongoing noise complaint between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Northwoods Boulevard.

Aug. 18

At 3:30 p.m. on Pine Avenue, officers handled a call for service involving a subject who made threats to a doctor he felt did not give him proper treatment.

At 6:20 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers took a report of a loose dog that was hit by a car and died.

At 10:02 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was stopped for drifting into oncoming traffic and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 10:32 p.m. on Church Street, a driver was stopped for traffic violations and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 11:37 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a subject was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public after found stumbling in the road.

Aug. 19

At 12:31 a.m., at an undisclosed location, a subject was contacted trying to free a stuck vehicle. Driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 12:40 a.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was stopped for swerving and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 1:35 a.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was stopped for traffic violations and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 1:39 a.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was stopped for traffic violations and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

At 9 a.m. at an undisclosed location, officers responded to a report of a boyfriend punching and choking his girlfriend. Domestic battery case forwarded to DA’s office.

At 9:48 a.m. on West River Street, a report was taken of a vehicle that was vandalized.

At 2:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of a drunk woman lying on a dirt trail. She was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public.

At 4:29 p.m., offices booked into evidence for safekeeping a lost driver’s license.

At 5:37 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a subject was spotted urinating in a bus stop. Subject arrested on suspicion of drunk in public.

Aug. 20

At 9:59 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a subject was stopped for riding a bike at night without lighting. Subject was determined to allegedly be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested.
