Truckee Police Logs: DUIs, arson and domestic violence incidents

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for May 12-26 along with previously unreported incidents.

May 12

Police investigated a 2-vehicle side-swipe collision that occurred at about 7:50 p.m. on Glenshire Drive, east of Donner Pass Road. The driver of one vehicular was arrested for DUI.

May 13

A juvenile was found to have started several small fires in a forested area in Tahoe Donner. The 10-year-old was arrested on suspicion of arson and was released to his parents.

Reporting party found a box of marijuana on the side of the road; it was destroyed.

A man reported that his longtime girlfriend had left Truckee by vehicle and was headed to Reno while under the influence of pain meds and alcohol.

A juvenile set a fire in the boys bathroom at a school on Donner Pass Road. The juvenile was interviewed and he/she admitted to the lighting the fire. The juvenile was cited and released to his parents.

May 14

A patrol at a Donner Pass Road business damaged a gaming console; a suspect was identified, and the owner and suspect entered into a civil compromise.

May 17

A field interview was conducted on Deerfield Drive conceding a possibly intoxicated subject with a knife; it was determined no crime was committed.

A male and female on Estates Drive were engaged in a physical confrontation, and one party was arrested.

May 18

A subject was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a peace officer after the subject was contacted yelling for help near Trails End Road. The subject was extremely intoxicated; while officers attempted to secure the subject, the subject kicked an officer in the stomach.

May 19

A concerned parent on Old Highway Drive reported her son feeling depressed and wanted a police officer to speak with him.

May 20

A boyfriend and girlfriend on South Shore Drive got into an argument; subjects were contacted; incident was documented.

Police were unable to locate any problems after reports came in of a possible vehicle collision and vehicles possibly chasing each other in town. Vehicle debris was found and collected.

May 21

An unlocked vehicle with keys inside was stolen from a driveway on Canterbury Lane. The vehicle was later stopped on Interstate 80, and the suspected was arrested. Undamaged vehicle was returned to owner.

May 23

A caller reported a physical fight between a male and female on a highway off-ramp.

Both parties were contacted, and it was determined the male half had committed spousal battery. He was arrested and booked without indent.

A subject was contacted while stopped on the side of Donner Pass Road. Subject was found to be driving under the influence of prescription drugs and was arrested.

May 24

Officers were notified of a domestic disturbance in a parking lot on Donner Pass Road. The female half was arrested for domestic violence.

May 25

Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence at a residence on Deerfield Drive. suspect was later found driving intoxicated and was booked into Truckee Jail on DUI and domestic violence charges.
