Truckee Police Logs: DUIs, public drunkenness dominate first week of July
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Departments press log for June 30 to July 7, along with previously unreported incidents.
The reporting party contacted TPD to report being a victim of identity theft. According to police, the suspect appears to be located in Iowa City, Iowa. The case was documented as an agency assist report, according to police.
Officer witnessed a collision, and the at-fault vehicle reportedly fleeing the scene. According to the report, evidence was collected.
A suspect entered a Dorchester Drive residence, reportedly removing property. According to the report, the suspect was observed via surveillance footage during the reported incident. The suspect was located and arrested on suspicion of residential burglary.
A money pouch containing cash during Truckee Thursday was discovered. Unable to determine the owner, the money was booked into evidence as found property.
TPD and Truckee Fire Department were dispatched to a report of an adult male lying in the intersection of Donner Pass Road and Coldstream Road around 12:40 a.m. The subject was transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital where he was admitted, cited and eventually released for public intoxication.
A reportedly intoxicated subject was seen discarding a lit cigarette, which reportedly caused forestland to be burned.
A TPD officer made a traffic stop reportedly for a child not being in a car seat, when the mother of the child reportedly admitted to using methamphetamine. The mother was cited and suggested child abuse report was taken.
Around 9:40 p.m. a reportedly drunken male was arrested for fighting downtown.
Around 10 p.m. officers contacted a subject suspect of being intoxicated outside of the Amtrak station. The suspect was arrested on charges of public intoxication and was later reportedly discovered to have an out-of-county warrant. The suspect was booked on both charges.
Around 10:50 p.m. an individual was stopped for a reported traffic violation and was arrested on DUI charges. The suspect was later released pending blood test results.
A person was stopped while reportedly staggering into traffic around 12:53 a.m. whereupon the individual was arrested on charges of public intoxication.
Following a vehicle stop for reported erratic driving behavior around 1:12 a.m., a suspect was arrested on DUI charges.
Police contacted a suspect sitting in the middle of a roadway around 2:44 a.m. and was arrested on charges of public intoxication.
At approximately 8:47 p.m. TPD officers contacted a reportedly intoxicated man after he refused to leave a store upon request. The suspect was found to have a local warrant and allegedly being too intoxicated to care for himself, he was subsequently arrested on undisclosed charges.
A driver was stopped for reportedly crossing into oncoming traffic around 10:30 p.m. and was subsequently arrested on DUI charges.
When TPD officers discovered a man unconscious in a Donner Lake parking lot around 5:54 p.m. the officer concluded the male was unable to care for himself due to a reportedly high level of intoxication. The suspect was arrested and transported to TFH for medical clearance. The suspect was also reportedly in violation of felony probation and was subsequently booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 7:30 p.m. following a routine vehicle stop, TPD officers reportedly determined the driver to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was cited and released.
A suspect was arrested around 7:56 p.m. on Donner Lake Drive on charges of public intoxication following reports the person was attempting to fight with people in the area, causing a disturbance at a nearby gift shop.
Around 8 p.m. a suspect was found unconscious in a parking lot and was taken into custody on suspicion of public drunkenness.
An individual was found to reportedly be “very” intoxicated, stumbling into Donner Pass Road around 12:45 a.m. and was subsequently arrested on charges of public intoxication.
A report of a found bike near Rock Street was booked for safekeeping by TPD.
Following a report of a person suspected of driving under the influence, TPD located the driver, who was reportedly found to not be driving under the influence, but in possession of illegal fireworks and marijuana. The driver was cited and released.
TPD received a report of an abandoned bicycle. Upon discovering the bike, it was transported and booked as found property.
