Truckee Police logs: Fight over pizza turns into battery by beer can
Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for March 3-22, along with previously unreported incidents.
Vehicle stop led to the discovery of approximately 70 pounds of marijuana and a firearm. The subject was arrested and booked into county jail.
Parent reported ongoing texts from angry mother. The reporting party requested officer make contact to have it put to a stop. Report was taken for documentation only.
Subject reported verbal dispute over property issues involving her husband. Parties separated and report was taken for documentation only.
Out of county missing persons report was sent to the department. It was determined the residence was located in Placer County. The report was sent to the proper agency.
Shoplifter was apprehended by loss prevention officer on Donner Pass Road. The suspect was cited and released.
Vehicle was stopped for expired registration. The driver had no insurance and was in possession of fraudulent ID. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was towed.
Officers took a report of assault on Highway 89 South. Suspect battered the victim and swung a kitchen knife at him while threatening to kill him. The suspect was arrested.
Reporting party reported suspicious entry into her apartment on Smith Street. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was taken from the apartment.
Boyfriend and girlfriend got into a verbal argument over drinking. The girlfriend was 3 months pregnant. The girlfriend passed out during the argument.
A student was found to be in possession of marijuana and a lighter. The juvenile was cited and released.
Juvenile posted inappropriate material on social media website about fellow students. The juvenile was admonished.
A juvenile was caught with a knife at school. The school and the parents handled the situation. Report was taken for information only.
During an investigation of a fight on Donner Pass Road, the roommate who fled the scene returned. The roommate was found to be DUI and was arrested. No prosecution was desired from the involved parties.
Unknown suspect stole victim’s wood pellet grill from his front yard.
Subject was found inside of a vehicle honking the horn on Olso Drive. The subject was very intoxicated and could not care for her own safety. No items were taken from the vehicle.
Driver was observed driving recklessly in the downtown area of Truckee. The driver was cited and released.
Unknown suspect pried a window open to enter a residence while occupants were away. The suspect took a large amount of change and $20 bill.
Officers contacted a victim of a theft on Glenshire Road. The victim’s trailer was taken from his residence.
Juvenile daughter told her parents she was headed to give drug dealer money that she owed him after her parents found and took her marijuana away from her. The juvenile does not have a phone and has been entered in the system for missing people.
While conducting a follow up, an indoor marijuana grow was discovered on Olympic Boulevard. The marijuana grow was determined to be legal pursuant to Proposition 215.
Victim’s vehicle was vandalized by an unknown suspect.
Local citizen turned in a found bicycle to Truckee Police Department. The property was logged for safekeeping.
Reporting party called to report her roommate was acting aggressive and making threatening statements; she was concerned for her safety. Officers responded and discovered no crime was committed. The report was generated to document this incident only.
Vehicle drove off roadway and down embankment. No one was around when law enforcement arrived. Officers were unable to locate the registered owner and the vehicle was towed as hazard.
One juvenile was threatening another student that would get him in trouble if the student did not do anything for him. The school and the parents are handling the incident. Report was taken for documentation.
Minor was found in possession of marijuana on a school campus on Donner Pass Road. The student was arrested and released to a parent.
Driver was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign on West River Street. The driver was determined to be unlicensed and presented several forms of identification with different dates of birth. The driver was arrested for been unlicensed and was transported to Nevada County Sheriff’s Office for fingerprint identification.
A juvenile who had been listed as a runaway was located. Report was taken for documentation.
A juvenile came to school on Estate Drive with a multi-utility knife. The student was cited and released.
Juvenile was stopped for traffic violation. The juvenile driver and another juvenile passenger were cited and released for alcohol related violations.
Driver was stopped for expired registration on Highway 89 South and was found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license. The driver was cited and released. The driver’s vehicle was parked in the parking lot where she was stopped until licensed driver was available.
Counter report was taken for lost passport. Report was taken for information only.
Subject was stopped for vehicle code violation. Marijuana was located in the vehicle. The subject was cited and released at the scene.
Officers took a report of vehicle repossession on Deerfield Drive. The owner was unaware.
Counter report was taken for a found Apple iPhone. The phone was found at the Truckee Regional Park. The phone was booked into evidence for safekeeping. Report was taken for information only.
A victim of vandalism was contacted by officers to file a report.
Vehicle parked on a public roadway on High Street was towed for excessively expired registration.
Officers responded for an unruly subject in the public lobby of the hospital. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and later was cited and released.
Vehicle stop was conducted for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.
Husband and wife were arguing over buying a pizza for dinner. The wife cornered her husband between the bed and the sliding door. She began to throw beer on him from her opened beer can and possibly striking him in the face. The female was arrested for battery. The incident occurred on Smith Street.
Reporting party responded to a Craigslist ad advertising vacation rental in Tahoe Donner. The reporting party arrived for her scheduled visit and found the residence abandoned. The reporting party contacted the “owner” via email and received no information back. The reporting party later determined the entire transaction was fraudulent. The reporting party transferred funds from San Francisco and the report was sent to the San Francisco Police Department.
Found property was booked for safekeeping.
Cold report was taken for a vehicle accident with minor damage and minor injuries.
Suspect was arrested for public intoxication on Pine Avenue.
Juvenile physically assaulted and threatened parents. The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall at parents’ request.
A juvenile was assaulted by another unknown juvenile on Pine Avenue. Both the juvenile and the parent did not was police investigation into the assault. Report was taken for information only.
Victim reported his Social Security number was used by unknown subject to file income taxes. Report was taken for documentation only.
While conducting a probation compliance check, officers located illegal weapons.
Reporting party called the police to report a female adult had been staggering in the roadway. The female was later located and was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for herself. The female was subsequently arrested and transported to Nevada County Sheriff’s Office for booking without further incident.
Vehicle was stopped for speed violation. Vehicle’s registration has expired since June 2014 in Montana. No local registration was attempted. The vehicle was towed and the driver was cited.
Officers located a subject reported missing out of Fresno.
Two suspicious persons were contacted on Dorchester Drive. Report was taken for information only.
Person called in to complain about a vehicle speeding and passing illegally during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Truckee Police Canine Unit conducted a narcotics trafficking investigation. A positive canine alert lead to the discovery of 11.6 pounds of suspected liquid amphetamines. Two adults were arrested.
During an investigation of a single vehicle collision a passenger was located with injuries. It was later determined the driver fled home on foot after the collision. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for hit and run and felony DUI.
Single vehicle hit a tree causing an injury to a passenger. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Report was taken.
Death investigation report was conducted for a deceased male. Nothing suspicious was noted. The report was turned over to Nevada County Coroner.
A citizen reported his vehicle was struck by another vehicle in a hit and run collision. Evidence showed the vehicle struck some sort of natural fixed object at an unknown location.
Person submitted a wallet to Truckee Police Department.
