Truckee Police Logs: Former landlord dumps toilet on property

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department`s press log for July 15-21, along with previously unreported incidents.

July 15

Officers took a report of theft of locked bicycle on Pioneer Trail. The loss is $250.

Telephone report was taken for traffic complaint.

Theft report was taken for stolen golf clubs on Northwoods Boulevard.

Reporting party called to report her former landlord has placed a white porcelain toilet in the middle of her driveway on Manchester Drive. The reporting party requested a report to be generated to document this incident.

July 16

Telephone report was taken for traffic complaint for drivers speeding on the back side of Glenshire Drive toward Hirschdale. Information was taken and was forwarded to the Traffic Division.

Vehicle was towed for expired registration.

A man reported being struck by a vehicle while riding a skateboard approximately 5 months ago.

Officers responded to a cold report of an assault occurring between an adult and juvenile. An investigation determined no crime had occurred. Informational report was taken.

July 17

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a minor vehicle code violation. The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were cited and released for various drug violations.

A female entered a store on Donner Pass Road and took a shirt without paying for it. She was cited and released for shoplifting.

Vehicle stop was conducted on a vehicle with false plates. The owner was cited and released.

Officers took a report of two vehicle minor injury collision. One of the drivers was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 18

Reporting party reported a reckless driver in the Olympic Heights subdivision. The reporting party signed a citizen’s arrest for the subject. Officers contacted the subject and he was cited and released with a Notice to Appear.

Subject was found passed out lying in the alley behind a local bar. The subject was determined to be unable to care for himself and was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

A female subject was found lying on the railroad tracks behind the depot. The subject was arrested for being intoxicated in public.

Citizen called in a subject lying in the roadway on Donner Pass Road near the overpass with Interstate 80. The subject was located and arrested for being intoxicated in public.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Victim lost track of her credit card at a business on Donner Pass Road. The victim later called her credit card company to cancel the card and found it had successfully been used at the two stores in Vacaville, Calif., with a total loss of $41.96.

A Jet Ski trailer was located within the town right of way with registration expired in excess of 6 months. The Jet Ski trailer was towed.

Officers responded to a report of verbal argument on Northwoods Boulevard. The incident was determined as verbal only based on statements given at the time of the call. The report serves as a documentation report only.

Vehicle was side swiped by another vehicle that fled the scene without giving required information. The accident occurred on Donner Pass Road.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

July 19

A man left his wallet in a vehicle of an acquaintance. He contacted that person and he was told they didn’t have his wallet. Lost property report was generated.

Reporting party found a bicycle on church property and turned into the police department.

During custodial exchange, the reporting party smelled alcohol on her son’s father’s breath. The reporting party stated he had just driven her son from Sonoma to Truckee for the exchange. The reporting party requested a welfare check. The father was contacted approximately 30 minutes later and was a 0.9 BAC.

Suspect pushed his wife during a fight about relationship issues on Whitehorse Road. There was a slight red mark on wife’s right arm, but the officers were unable to determine if this was sustained during the pushing incident.

A victim of a theft phone the police department to file a report of theft. Victim’s mountain bike was stolen from the locked bike rack on his vehicle.

July 20

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was found to be under the influence of narcotics. The driver was arrested and released to parents.

Officers observed subject staggering near the railroad. He was contacted and found to be very intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication.

Officers observed bear getting into an unsecured garbage can on Moraine Way. The bear was diverted and information was forwarded to Code Enforcement.

A traffic stop was conducted and 3.5 ounces of marijuana and some hash oil were seized from the vehicle. The driver was cited and released.

July 21

Over the counter report was taken for non injury vehicle accident. Report was taken for information only.

Unknown suspect cut rubber tubing near the fuel filter of victim’s delivery van. There are no known suspects.

Officers with the Truckee Police Department assisted California State Park Police with an individual who was under the influence of drugs while within Donner State Park. The suspect was arrested by California State Park Police after an investigation.

A subject reported her husband has just left the area on foot and was delusional. The subject was concerned for her husband`s safety. The husband was located and it was determined he was not a danger to himself or others.

An unknown suspect used spray paint to graffiti the inside of a public bathroom on Brockway Road.
