Truckee Police Logs: Man drunk in front of jail arrested, jailed

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department's press log for Aug. 26 to Sept. 6, along with previously unreported incidents.

August 26

Parents called Dispatch to report their 17-year-old son was out of control and destroying property in the residence on Skislope Way.

Some fraudulent charges were made using victim's bank account. Charges occurred at a location in Watsonville.

A husband and a wife were involved in a domestic argument at their shared business. Report was taken for documentation only.

Suspect and victim were previously married and have a child in common. The suspect took victim's phone and pushed her when she went to retrieve it. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence.

Officers arrested an individual in front of the jail for being publicly intoxicated.

Subject was contacted after a citizen reported a male stumbling in the roadway. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public.

August 27

Subject was causing a disturbance inside a local business on Palisades Drive. Upon arrival, the subject was contacted and subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

Lobby report was taken for unauthorized charges on a credit card.

Husband and wife got into physical altercation on Palisades Drive. The wife was arrested for domestic violence.

August 28

Subject entered a local bar after contact with law enforcement for disturbing the peace and stole merchandise. The subject then fled on foot.

Off-duty officer observed driver operating recklessly and endangering other motorists. The next day, the officer located the driver and arrested him for reckless driving. The vehicle also had expired registration and was towed.

Officers took a report of commercial burglary. Cash was stolen by mean of "Short Change" scam.

Female suspect punched her ex-boyfriend in the face on Pioneer Trail.

August 29

Unknown person opened the reporting party's unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet that was sitting on her passenger seat. The wallet was located nearby; however all the cash was stolen from the wallet.

Juvenile entered a store on Donner Pass and put merchandise in pants. The juvenile exited the store and failed to pay for the merchandise. The juvenile was stopped by loss prevention and was arrested for shoplifting.

Truckee Police Department Canine Unit assisted California Highway Patrol with a narcotics trafficking investigation. Informational report was taken regarding suspected drug trafficking activity.

Report was taken for marijuana grow on Waterloo Circle.

August 30

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Subject was found to be very intoxicated and unable to care for her safety. She was arrested and booked into Nevada County Sheriff's Office jail.

Ongoing barking complaints and multiple barking investigations conducted resulted in a citation for three dogs as witnessed by an officer.

Subject was stumbling in traffic on West River Street. The subject was contacted and found to be drunk in public and unable to care for herself. The subject was booked into jail.

The owner of a second home in Tahoe-Donner arrived after being away since February to find the garage door had been pried open. Nothing was stolen.

Vehicle stop led to arrest of driver for possession of narcotics. Female passenger was later found with narcotics and multiple warrants.

Officers responded to assist with a vegetation fire. Units located a suspect arsonist who admitted to setting the fire. The suspect was turned over to Calfire arson investigators.

August 31

An unknown person cut a chain and stole two bicycles from the reporting party's vehicle while the reporting party was eating at a local restaurant.

A caller reported hearing a man and women arguing inside of a house on Stockholm Way. Officers responded and found the female out front of the house; the male had left. There was no physical violence and a report was taken for information only.

Bicycle collided into the side of a vehicle causing moderate injuries to the bicycle rider.

Reporting party reported an unknown object shattered the glass on one of his solar panels.

Intoxicated subject was located near a shopping center on Deerfield Drive and subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

Subject was seen smashing a beer on the ground in front of officers on Deerfield Drive. The subject refused to comply with verbal commands. The subject was arrested for delaying the officers.

September 2

Victim's truck was keyed for the second time by an unknown suspect.

Subject was located out in front of a store on Deerfield Drive. The subject was so intoxicated to the point of being unable to care for his own welfare. The subject was arrested for being intoxicated in public.

September 3

Officers responded to a report of a transient camp behind a business on Deerfield Drive. The subject gathered his personal belongings and was told not to return to the property.

Reporting party reported an unknown subject had taken photos of her residence and children on multiple occasions over the past month. The reporting party requested a report to be generated to document these incidents.

September 4

Injured deer was dispatched from Church Street.

Suspect contacted victim by phone and text message in violation of an emergency protective order. The suspect was later arrested.

Officers responded to a fight on school grounds on Donner Pass Road. One student was cited and released to parents.

Two juvenile females were involved in physical fight resulting in one of them sustaining temporary vision loss.

Officers conducted a search for trespassing suspect on Donner Pass Road. One subject was located in the area and was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor Nevada County warrant.

Subject was contacted on property by employees after being told he was no longer allowed on premises. The subject fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. Report was filed for trespassing.

Missing phone was recovered. Informational report was taken.

September 5

Reporting party reported her water bill was higher than normal and requested police report.

Reporting party reported her pills and prescription went missing from her home on Rainbow Drive. There are no suspects at this time.

Subject was found passed out in front of CVS on Deerfield Drive. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.

September 6

Two vehicles were towed for parking in a closed section of the roadway on Bridge Street.

Female was located passed out on the side of the road on Donner Pass Road. The female was very intoxicated. She was taken to the hospital where she was cited and released.

Subject was reported drinking alcohol in a store on Deerfield Drive. The subject was located and was found to have a warrant out of Placer County. The subject was arrested.

A victim of credit card theft contacted the Police Department wishing to file a report.

Officers contacted a subject who was found to have an out of county warrant for his arrest. The subject was taken into custody without incident and was booked in the Nevada County Jail.

Officers were dispatched to a local market on Donner Pass Road regarding an intoxicated person. The subject was arrested and booked into the Nevada County Jail.

A man and a woman were in an argument at their residence on River Park Place. The woman hit the man several times as he was trying to leave.
