Truckee Police Logs: Man pours hot coffee on wife, arrested for domestic violence

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents compiled from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for Nov. 17-23, along with previously unreported incidents.

Nov. 17

At 10:47 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was stopped for a vehicle code violation and was cited for possession of marijuana in a vehicle.



At 4:53 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers responded to a traffic collision between two vehicles, leading to the arrest of one driver for suspected DUI. The DUI driver had extensive DUI history and was arrested for felony DUI, police said.

At 9:46 p.m., officers took a report from an Alder Drive resident of a stolen phone. The phone was later located by the victim; incident was found to be a mixup between friends.



Nov. 18

At 7:29 a.m. at a residence on Saint Albans Place, officers responded to a physical altercation between a wife and husband that resulted in the wife having hot coffee poured on her. The husband was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

At 3:32 p.m. on Rue Hilltop Road, a report was taken for theft of personal items from an unlocked vehicle.

At 3:44 p.m. on Estates Drive, another report was taken for theft of personal items from an unlocked vehicle.

Nov. 19

At 2:58 a.m. on Northwoods Boulevard, officers responded to a report that a taxi driver had kicked a subject out of a cab for being aggressive and too intoxicated. After a brief scuffle with the driver, the subject fled and was later located and arrested for public intoxication.

Nov. 20

At 10:02 a.m., ammunition was turned into the department for destruction.

At 2:30 p.m., a Donner Pass Road business reported an employee had embezzled roughly $2,400 of merchandise and money. One female adult was arrested for felony embezzlement.

At 5:02 p.m., Donner Pass Road school official reported that threats were being made by one male student toward another. Contact was made with the juvenile and his parents, resulting in the situation being mediated. Report taken.

Nov. 21

At 9:07 p.m. on Snow Shoe Circle, an enclosed trailer containing 17 bicycles was reported stolen, then located. A suspect was later located and arrested on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges.

Nov. 22

At 6:46 p.m., deputies responded to a Donner Pass Road business where narcotics paraphernalia had been found. It was turned over to police for destruction.

At 11:34 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers stopped a vehicle for driving without headlines and weaving into the oncoming lane. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested for suspected DUI.
