Truckee Police Logs: Man shoots person, arrested for running drug lab
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s online press log for May 31 through June 12.
At 10:11 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a report was taken for a person complaining about a barking dog.
At 8:03 a.m. in downtown, two males matching the description of those involved in a prior incident involving CHP were seen on foot. Both suspects fled but were quickly arrested without incident. One suspect was carrying a loaded handgun; he eventually was booked in Nevada County Jail. According to the jail’s media report, the man — Eddie Dwayne Robinson, from Vallejo, Calif. — is a convicted felon and was arrested on suspicion of nine felony charges.
At 12:31 p.m., a male juvenile violated terms of his probation by being in possession of marijuana, and he was cited with a notice to appear.
At 4:42 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers took a report of garage sale items stolen from a driveway.
At 6:02 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers took a report of a hit and run collision in private parking lot.
At 7:16 p.m., officers took a domestic dispute report regarding two people arguing over marijuana at a gas station.
At 8:43 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a drunk subject was kicked out of a downtown bar, then attempted to get back in. The subject was found to be allegedly heavily intoxicated and was arrested for drunk in public.
At 8:43 a.m. on Brook Lane, officers took a report of two roommates having a verbal argument. One roommate elected to move out.
At 3:09 p.m., a Donner Pass Road business reported theft of money from the business. Report taken.
At 10:58 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, two people collided while riding bicycles as they were trying to avoid a vehicle that was pulling away from the curb. Report taken.
At 1:12 p.m., police arrested a man after he allegedly shot a victim at an undisclosed location with a high-powered pellet rifle. During the investigation, officers also allegedly uncovered a drug manufacturing operation. According to the Nevada County Jail media report, the arrest occurred on Ski View Loop. The man — 21-year-old Kevin Joseph Rhoda, of Tampa, Fla., was booked on felony charges of conspiracy and manufacturing a controlled substance and is being held on $200,000 bail.
At 12:06 p.m. on Martis Valley Road, officers took a report of two subjects who got into an argument and were yelling at each other.
At 4:15 p.m., officers took a report from a victim whose ID was used fraudulently in Pennsylvania.
At 6:30 p.m., officers took a report from a victim whose social security number was fraudulently used.
At 10:59 p.m. on Alder Creek Road, an injured coyote was dispatched.
At 12:18 p.m., officers took a report that an unknown suspect unsuccessfully tried to open a credit card account in a victim’s name.
At 3:17 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a vehicle was stopped for code violation and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
At 9:51 p.m. on Jibboom Street, a subject was determined to be overly intoxicated while in a public place.
At 10:35 p.m., officers took a counter complaint for cyclists throughout town jurisdiction allegedly not obeying traffic laws and creating a safety hazard.
At 2:40 p.m., officers took a report from a victim who reported receiving a lewd FaceTime request.
At 8:08 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers contacted an intoxicated female lying on the ground behind a commercial building. The subject was arrested and booked on suspicion of drunk in public.
At 1:10 a.m. at an undisclosed location, a driver was pulled over for a code violation and was determined to allegedly be driving under the influence and was arrested.
At 7:51 on Donner Pass Road, police took a report from a local bike shop that two mountain bikes were stolen from the front of the shop, where they were secured with a locked cable during non-business hours.
At 6:20 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers responded to a domestic violence incident involving a boyfriend and girlfriend in a physical altercation, resulting in minor injuries to both parties. It was determined the male subject had allegedly operated a vehicle while intoxicated. The subject was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The female subject was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.
At 8:05 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers responded to a disturbance involving people who had been drinking. The involved parties were uncooperative with officers. The incident was documented in a report.
At 2 p.m., officers took a report of a mutual road rage-related incident involving one subject holding a holstered Taser in his hand.
At 6:06 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers took an information report for a domestic dispute between two parties.
At 11:44 a.m., officers responded to the Truckee River Legacy Trail to assist a victim who had a medical emergency.
