Truckee Police Logs: Man steals father’s car, threatens him with knife

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents compiled from the Truckee Police Department’s online press log for Feb. 23 to March 7, along with previously unreported incidents.

February 23

At 9:32 a.m. at a school on Donner Pass Road, the TPD School Resource Officer investigated an incident involving a former student caught on surveillance video throwing eggs in front of the school. Informational report taken.



At 11:26 a.m. on Truckee Airport Road, a subject was arrested on suspicion of DUI alcohol.

At 2:49 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a subject was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public.



February 24

At 11:41 a.m. at a school on Donner Pass Road, a school teacher reported her wallet was taken from her unlocked vehicle during school hours.

At 1:25 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers confiscated marijuana from students.

At 4:29 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a subject was arrested on suspicion of alcohol and narcotics violations.

At 9:39 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers investigated an incident in which a subject — who had previously stolen his father’s vehicle — showed up at the victim’s house, went inside without permission and brandished a knife at him. The suspect then fled in the stolen vehicle; suspect’s whereabouts are unknown.

February 25

At 3:04 p.m. on Deerfield Drive, a subject was contacted after it appeared he was looking inside parked cars. The subject was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested.

At 4:38 p.m., officers took a report from a person who alleged unknown persons were conducted unlawful surveillance.

February 26

At 12:08 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers took a report that an unknown subject stole an item from a store.

At 6:14 p.m. on Pine Forest Road, officers responded to a residence after a subject’s vehicle rolled onto the street, trapping the subject underneath. The subject was working on the car at the time.

February 27

At 6:11 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a reported assault resulted in an arrest for domestic violence.

February 29

At 2:18 a.m., two subjects were contacted in the ER at Tahoe Forest Hospital. Both suffered injuries from a fight; neither wanted to press charges.

At 6:20 p.m. at an undisclosed location, a subject locked herself in a public restroom; she was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public.

March 1

At 1:07 p.m., an unknown suspect used a Pioneer Trail resident’s information in an attempt to gain credit.

At 11:39 a.m. on Brockway Road, officers took a report of fraudulent use of a victim’s social security number. The suspect was later identified and arrested.

At 12:24 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers took a report of stolen medication.

At 6:23 p.m. on Palisades Drive, an unknown suspect backed into a victim’s vehicle causing no damage. The suspect proceeded to assault the victim. The victim declined any further action by police.

At 11:37 p.m. on Old Mill Road, an adult male was arrested on suspicion of drunk in public after it was reported he was in the street causing a disturbance.

March 3

At 12:30 p.m., officers took a report that a renter on Pinnacle Loop had embezzled property from his former landlord. Case forwarded to the DA’s office.

At 8 p.m. on Purple Sage Road, officers investigated a situation in which a married couple had a verbal argument, and threats were made toward a third party.

March 4

At 9:15 p.m. on Deerfield Drive, a very intoxicated subject reported he had been assaulted by his friends. His claim was found to be unsubstantiated.

March 5

At 12:08 p.m., a subject reported her daughter was being harassed by a male in violation of a restraining order.

At 4:08 p.m., a citizen reported a possible DUI driver at an undisclosed location. The driver was contacted and arrested on suspicion of DUI.

March 7

At 9:40 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers investigated a report that unknown suspect(s) removed a victim’s wallet out of her unlocked vehicle.

At 10:53 a.m. at an undisclosed location, an unknown email entered a residence claiming she was there to clean the house. The owner asker her to leave. Report taken for suspicious circumstances.

At 11:53 p.m. at an undisclosed location, officers took a report about possible domestic violence.
