Truckee police logs: Person killed after being hit by train
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s online press log for August 23 to September 12.
At 2:23 p.m. on Deerfield Drive, a subject was contacted for allegedly having an open alcohol container. Subject arrested for drunk in public.
At 2:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to a medical officer regarding a patient who threatened to shoot a doctor. Subject arrested.
At 7:14 p.m. on West River Street, officers responded to a verbal altercation between a girlfriend and boyfriend.
At 7:05 p.m. on Highway 267, a traffic crash investigation resulted in the arrest of a female adult for DUI.
At 1:55 p.m. on Trails End Road, officers responded to a business that reported a former employee was using an unauthorized fuel card during and after employment. Subject located and arrested for theft.
At 10:06 a.m., a vandalism report was filed for damage to a shed at the Regional Park.
At 8:51 p.m., a subject was contacted walking along the road acting erratically. An investigation determine the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. Subject arrested.
At 9:10 a.m. on Rue Ivy Lane, officers filed a report of a parked vehicle that was burglarized and vandalized overnight.
At 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single motorcycle accident. Driver fled before police arrival and was not located.
At 11:49 p.m. on Sierra Drive, officers responded to a report that a subject was trying to gain entry into a house with a chainsaw. Claim was unfounded.
At 10:38 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle crash with moderate injuries.
At 4:42 p.m. on Brockway Road, officers took a report of a suspect(s) who vandalized numerous local park structures.
At 12:36 p.m., officers took a report of graffiti on town property.
At 3:01 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers took a report of vandalism to a business sign.
At 12:13 p.m. on Deerfield Drive, officers took a report that an unknown male assaulted a cashier at a local business.
At 1:24 a.m. on Bridge Street, a subject was arrested for drunk in public.
At 6:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of three subjects breaking into a storage closet of a business. Subjects located and arrested for burglary.
At 9:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person struck by the train. Victim was Care-Flighted to Renown in Reno; victim was deceased upon arrival.
At 11:44 p.m. on Palisades Drive, officers responded to a domestic disturbance between a male and female who had been drinking. The male was extremely intoxicated and arrested for drunk in public.
At 9:52 a.m. on Martis Valley Road, officers took a report from a resident who thinks a neighbor is accessing her vehicle and joy riding at night.
At 1:14 p.m. on Church Street, officers took a report that two young woman and rented bikes from a local business and did not return them.
At 3:06 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, officers took a report of graffiti on a building.
At 11:04 p.m. on Rhineland Avenue, officers responded to a residence where a male had entered uninvited. Female victim claims he grabbed her by the neck. No visible injuries observed. The man was arrested for assault.
At 9:39 p.m. on Brookstone Drive, a boyfriend and girlfriend got into a verbal argument.
At 1:30 p.m. at a local school, marijuana was confiscated from a student.
At 10:53 a.m. on Snowpeak Way, a citizen reported he was assaulted by his neighbor when she attempted to run him over with her vehicle, over a dispute over parking on the street. Case forwarded to DA’s office for review.
At 11:40 a.m., officers took a report from a resident who was the victim of identity theft after an account had been opened under his name in Florida.
At 5:57 p.m. on Waters Way, officers took a report from a female who said her ex-husband was harassing her via telephone and showing up at her home.
At 12:05 a.m., a suspect was pulled over while driving through a downtown construction area; driver was arrested for DUI.
At 4:34 p.m., a verbal altercation escalated to one suspect brandishing a knife. Suspect fled the area, and victim did not want to pursue charges.
At 6:27 p.m. on Snowpeak Way, a victim reported a contractor had damaged his vehicle during a verbal dispute. Report filed.
At 4:40 p.m. on Richards Boulevard, officers responded to a private home where a deck collapsed while a male victim was standing on it. The man was Care-Flighted to Renown in Reno for his injuries.
At 12:59 a.m., a vehicle was stopped for code violations; driver arrested for DUI.
At 2:11 a.m., a vehicle was stopped for code violations; driver arrested for DUI.
At 12:44 a.m., a residential burglary report was taken.
At 10:37 p.m. on Lockwood Drive, officers contacted a trespasser squatting on a property. Suspect left voluntarily; no prosecution desired.
At 11:37 a.m., officers responded to a report that a suspect had gained entry to a locked vehicle and removed property.
At 2:40 p.m. at a local school, a student was found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
