Truckee police logs: Public intoxication, DUI incidents abound

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Departments press log for July 28 to Aug. 11, along with previously unreported incidents.

JULY 28

An individual was found unconscious on Deerfield Drive around 6:05 p.m., who was later discovered to be intoxicated, according to deputies. The person was arrested and charged with public intoxication.



JULY 29

Following a 2:23 p.m. vehicle stop along Donner Pass Road, the responding deputy reports the vehicle had been reported stolen. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with vehicle theft. The passengers were reportedly released.



JULY 30

Deputies responded to a 6:53 p.m. report of an intoxicated man somewhere along Donner Pass Road, who was reportedly causing a disturbance. Deputies report the man showed “overt signs” of intoxication and impairment and was subsequently arrested on charges of public intoxication. He was transported to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

AUG. 2

Deputies confronted an individual on Donner Pass Rd. around 1:18 a.m. later determined to be allegedly “extremely intoxicated,” according to deputy reports, and was subsequently arrested.

AUG. 4

A 9:35 p.m. call to a W. River Street residence led deputies to a suspect wanted on several arrest warrants. The individual was reported to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance, which prompted the initial call, deputies report. The suspect was arrested.

AUG. 5

A Northwoods Boulevard report of a hit and run around 9 a.m. led deputies on a search for the driver. He was later located, deputies report, and admitted to the collision.

AUG. 6

Officers responded to a 4:22 p.m. report of a kidnapping near Donner Pass Road, where they discovered a woman and a nearby fleeing male suspect, according to deputies. Deputies also report the man was suspected of connections with several crimes in California and Nevada, including kidnapping, robbery, criminal threats and child endangerment. While initial searches for the suspect were unsuccessful, the man was located days later, deputies report, and arrested.

AUG. 8

A subject was arrested on near Donner Pass Rd. around 12:54 a.m. for allegedly being drunk in public, deputies report.

AUG. 9

A vehicle stop around 1:43 a.m. led to the arrest of an individual suspected of driving while under the influence, according to deputies.

Another vehicle stop around 2:20 a.m. led to another arrest of an individual suspected of driving while under the influence, according to deputies.

A suspect was arrested along Donner Pass Rd. just after 5:20 p.m. on suspicions of being drunk in public, according to deputies.

AUG. 10

Following a 8:15 p.m. report of a verbal altercation on Donner Pass Rd., deputies report a man was arrested on charges of public intoxication.
