Truckee Police Logs: Rock-throwing suspect assaults officer
Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for November 4-11, along with previously unreported incidents.
November 4
Neighbor noticed rear yard was on fire and called for emergency services. CalFire responded and extinguished the fire.
Trailer parked on Town of Truckee public property with registration expired in 2010 was towed.
November 5
Citizen called in an unconscious subject asleep in a bush on West River Street. An officer contacted the man and he was arrested for drunk in public.
A subject was detained for a probation violation and was released.
Reporting party lost her driver’s license and a credit card while at the post office. The items were located by the owner the day after the report was taken.
November 6
Counter report was taken for traffic complaint.
Suspect was arrested for outstanding warrants on Manchester Drive.
Officers took a report for minor injury traffic collision.
An unknown vehicle crashed into a sign at Mclver Crossing roundabout and fled the scene prior to officer arrival.
November 7
Subjects were contacted after an argument turned briefly physical during a party on Highland Avenue. Two of the subjects were found to be intoxicated and unable to care for themselves and one had an out of county warrant. Both of them were arrested and booked.
November 8
Suspect took items from a store on Donner Pass Road without the knowledge or consent of the store supervisor. The store supervisor followed the suspect out of the store, and eventually multiple blocks. The suspect threw rocks at the store supervisor’s vehicle as the store supervisor followed the suspect. An officer arrived on the scene, and the suspect began to physically attack the officer as well as try and flee from the officer. The suspect was eventually subdued by the officer and was placed in police custody. The suspect who was a juvenile was transported and booked in Nevada County Juvenile Hall.
A dog was seen in a vehicle during regular parking patrol, with windows minimally rolled down in hot weather condition. The dog was removed after determining the interior of the vehicle was increasing in heat. The owners were later located and admonished.
Officers took a report of a verbal argument between a husband and a wife on Nordic Lane. The report was taken for documentation only.
November 9
Consensual contact of a driver upon arriving at his home resulted in arrest for DUI.
Officers took a report of two-vehicle minor injury collision on Donner Pass Road.
November 10
Officers were dispatched to assist Union Pacific Railroad with a stowaway on a freight train. The stowaway was located, removed from the train and was cited for trespassing on railroad property.
Informational report was taken for noises heard in a residence on Dorchester Drive in Truckee.
