Truckee Police Logs: Several fights, domestic over holidays

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for Dec. 16-30, along with previously unreported incidents.

December 16



It was reported that a 14-year-old male was en-route to Alder Creek Middle School with a handgun. The student was contacted and it was determined the juvenile did not have in his possession a handgun and that the student had brought the handgun with him to school the prior day. The handgun was located at his residence. The juvenile was arrested and released to his mother. Report was forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review and a complaint to be filed against the registered owner of the handgun for failing to properly store the firearm.

Reporting party called in to report lost wallet accidently left in a shopping cart on Donner Pass Road.



Suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription medication on Torrey Pine Road.

Officers took a report of collision on Torrey Pine Road.

A subject with a local felony warrant was arrested on Deerfield Drive.

Officers took a report of a verbal dispute between ex-spouses on Canterbury Lane.

A subject that punched the reporting party in the face a few days ago was back at the reporting party’s residence, pounding on the door threatening to beat him up.

December 17

Two parties were in dispute over a minor collision the day before that was not reported to police. Officers mediated and issued no-trespassing warning.

Officers took a report of two-vehicle, non-injury collision.

Report was taken for a verbal altercation between parties over a lease agreement on Smith Street.

Report was taken for a theft of package on Bridge Street.

Subject fell and hit his head while removing snow from driveway on Snowpeak Way. The subject then became physically combative with medics. Report was generated to document the incident.

December 18

An employee stole a controlled substance from her place of employment, a pharmacy in town. The employee was arrested and booked.

Ammunition was booked for destruction.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and booked for DUI.

Counter report was taken for an after the fact vehicle accident.

Information report was taken regarding a late report of a juvenile who brought a knife to school approximately a month ago.

December 19

Counter report was taken for reporting party who reported shipped item was not received even though email confirmation stated the item was delivered.

Subject was arrested after driving his vehicle off the roadway while intoxicated. The subject then stole a vehicle and was subsequently arrested on scene.

December 20

Stepson and step dad got into a verbal argument on Alder Creek Road. The step dad threatened to kill with a gun the stepson and ex-wife who was present during the incident. The step dad then went and retrieved a gun from his bedroom and began to threaten to kill his ex-wife and stepson. The stepson was able to wrestle the gun out of his step dad’s hand and then hide the gun. The step dad tried to retrieve another gun from his gun safe. The victims attempted to keep the step dad from getting another gun. During the struggle the step dad grabbed his ex-wife by her hair and threw her onto the ground. The step dad was arrested.

A caller reported possible DUI driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Officers took a report of a verbal argument between boyfriend and girlfriend on Brockway Road. The boyfriend left and the girlfriend threw many items around the house. Report was taken for documentation only.

A vehicle was stopped for veering over double yellow lines into oncoming traffic. The driver was arrested for DUI.

December 21

Reporting party thought a campground bench was stolen. The bench was located after the case number was requested.

A vehicle was stopped for a series of moving traffic violations. The driver was arrested for DUI.

December 22

Officers took a report for a verbal argument between boyfriend and girlfriend with minor pushing. The case was documented as a domestic violence incident.

Reporting party reported his credit card was fraudulently used approximately two weeks following a visit to a local business. Report was taken.

December 23

Reporting party called to report an intoxicated, and had caused a disturbance at a local bar on Donner Pass Road. The subject was later located and subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

Officers took a report of overnight vandalism to fuel pumps on private property on Henness Road.

Husband and wife were involved in domestic argument on Davos Drive. The husband was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.

Traffic enforcement stop was ensued for vehicle code violations. The passenger of the vehicle provided false information to officer. The passenger had two outstanding warrants and was in violation of probation. The passenger was arrested and booked without further incident.

December 24

Victim reported an unknown suspect broke the window of his rental house sometime during last week. The victim was later identified as his juvenile neighbor. The victim decided he did not want any further law enforcement involvement. Report was taken for documentation.

Three-vehicle collision occurred where one party was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

December 25

Driver stopped car in traffic and fell asleep. The driver was cited for operating with suspended license and the vehicle was impounded.

Driver was stopped for vehicle code violations on Interstate 80 and as arrested for DUI.

December 26

Citizen located narcotics and turned them in for destruction.

Citizen located lost wallet. The rightful owner was located and provided the wallet.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was found to have suspended license. The driver was cited and released with a passenger who had valid driver license.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations and the driver was arrested for DUI.

December 27

Officers took a report of two vehicle accident with complaint of minor pain.

December 28

Uninvolved party witnessed a physical fight between three individuals outside of an apartment on Estates Drive. One subject fled with another appearing to chase him. The last subject re-entered the residence and was contacted by officers. The subject refused to give any details and claimed to not know the identity of the other involved persons.

Unknown person broke into a vehicle and stole multiple personal items.

Three juvenile males were cited and released for various marijuana violations on Dorchester Drive.

Officers stood by while medical staff sedated a non-compliant patient.

December 29

Vehicle was cited for blocking all commercial access to alley. Officers returned and found the vehicle still blocking traffic. The vehicle was towed.

Suspect was arrested for outstanding warrant on Torrey Pine Road.
