Truckee Police Logs: Stolen bikes, cyclist gets DUI

Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for July 22-29, along with previously unreported incidents.

July 22

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at a known suspect’s residence. The suspect was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm.

July 23

Officers responded to a male subject threatening harm to the others on a public pier. The subject was arrested and booked for being uncooperative with responding officers.

July 24

Officers took a report of found sandals and kitchen knife on Donner Pass Road.

Officers reported an abandoned vehicle displaying stolen license plates. The vehicle’s owner was located and was arrested for theft and display of license plates.

Victim noticed several unauthorized charges on checking account and learned her debit card had been utilized for several fraudulent purchases. The case was forwarded to Roseville Police Department for review.

Officers responded to a structure fire on Bennett Flat Road. The fire was started by a juvenile with special needs in his own home. Report was taken for information only.

Informational report was taken of a bear entering residence on Royal Way.

July 25

Husband and wife were engaged in a physical altercation resulting in both parties being arrested. The incident occurred on West River Street.

An unknown person spray-painted the reporting party’s vehicle sometime over night.

A caller reported a man entered a convenience store and demanded the clerk call 911 on his behalf because people were coming after him with guns. Officers responded and took the man to the hospital to be evaluated for mental illness.

Vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violation and the driver was arrested for DUI. The passenger was found to be a minor under the influence, and was cited and released.

July 26

Officers stopped a vehicle for traffic violation. The driver and the passenger were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Two domestic partners were engaged in a verbal argument over child custody related issues. Information report was filed.

Informational report was taken on multiple loud music and disturbance the peace calls from a residence on Oxford Circle.

Intoxicated bicyclist was stopped for riding with no lights or reflectors. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and was cited for DUI on bicycle.

July 27

Officers took a report of bicycle theft from stairwell on Donner Pass Road. No suspect information is available.

July 28

An unknown person stole a bicycle from underneath a residential deck on Heather Road.

Reporting party reported that a subject may have attempted to gain access to a business that was closed.
