Truckee Police Logs: Woman on drugs delivers baby who tests positive for meth

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents compiled from the Truckee Police Department’s online press log for March 8-15, along with previously unreported incidents.

March 9

At 5:50 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a suspect was contacted and arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.



March 10

At 5:46 p.m. on Brookstone Drive, police took a citizen’s report of a possible illegal marijuana violation. Officers determined that no crime was committed.



March 12

At 1:57 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a subject was contacted after having a bow and arrow near a grocery store. The subject was identified and released.

At 3 p.m. at Tahoe Forest Hospital, Nevada County Child Protective Services notified Truckee Police that a mother tested positive for methamphetamine, alcohol and marijuana at the time of delivery of her baby. The baby also tested positive for methamphetamine. Truckee Police detained the baby, per state law. Nevada County CPS will perform a follow-up investigation.
