Cut fiber optics line causes outage

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” A cut fiber optics wire has caused widespread computer network outages between South Lake Tahoe and Truckee.

The outage happened at around 2 p.m. Thursday and has affected networks around Lake Tahoe, especially on the California side, technicians working on the outage report.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune was affected by the glitch and newspapers may be late getting to driveways, doorsteps and racks this morning. The Tribune regrets any inconvenience this may cause.

The Sierra Sun production staff traveled to the Incline Village offices of the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza to paginate today’s Sun.
