Davis, Woodland may be linked with trail for bikes, electric cars

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) ” Yolo County residents could soon ride on a path linking Davis and Woodland that would be open only to bicycles and electric vehicles.

Yolo County officials are considering using a railroad right of way or extending an existing county road between the neighboring communities west of Sacramento.

The path is seen as a way to help the growing number of green commuters who now must ride dangerous rural roads. A 60-year-old cyclist was killed by a motorist in October.

The county also plans to widen some existing county roads used by cyclists.
