Dearing, Gary Roger

Gary Dearing, 62, passed away Jan. 2, 2008, after a long battle with heart disease. Gary was born in Oakland and raised in Alameda. He lived in the Bay Area until moving to Truckee in 1993. He was an employee of PGandamp;E for 44 years. Gary loved camping, jeeping, working on anything with an internal-combustion engine, and spending time with his family. Gary was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley (Ferguson) Dearing; his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lisa Dearing of Elk Grove; his daughter and son-in-law, Robin Dearing and Bill McCracken of Grand Junction, Colo.; and four grandchildren, Mackenzie and Colby Dearing and Sean and Margaret McCracken. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Lindy and Donna Freeman; and his sister and brother-in-law, Saundra and Arnie Calhoun. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Leroy Dearing; his mother, Joyce (Freeman) Dearing; and his brother, Michael Dearing. There are no services planned at this time. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Tahoe Forest Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary and Crematory.
