Demolition under way for North Tahoe affordable housing project

KINGS BEACH, Calif. and#8212; The Kings Beach Affordable Housing Project is in the first phase of construct this month with the demolition of two lots in Kings Beach, Placer County officials recently announced.

According to a county press release, the demolition on Chipmunk Street is part of a bid by San Francisco-based Domus Development, Kings Beach Housing Associates and the Placer County Redevelopment Agency to construct 75 low-income deed restricted housing units through out Kings Beach.

Sites for the entire project include two units on Brook Avenue, five units on Trout Avenue, 12 units on Fox Avenue, 18 units on Deer Avenue and 40 units on Chipmunk Street.



With a completed environmental review process, approval from regulatory entities and funding secured for the $33 million project, construction is expected to break ground next summer.

and#8220;If all goes well we will be completed for our deadline with all the Infrastructure by spring 2012,and#8221; said Meea Kang, lead developer at Domus, in a June interview.
