Dew Tour to bring television exposure to the region

NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE “-Hot on the heels of President’s Day Weekend and “ski skate week,” the Winter Dew Tour is expected to bring a second round of business to Northstar-at-Tahoe and the North Shore of Tahoe.

From Thursday through Sunday, Northstar will host the final stop of the Dew Tour. And with MTV, USA and NBC to capture the events and the crowning of the Dew Tour champions, who will share a $1.5 million purse, Northstar has readied themselves for some colossal crowds.

“It’s a lot of work getting ready for an event of this caliber,” said Jessica VanPernis, Northstar’s communications manager. “The Northstar team has been working for the last few months getting it all ready.”

VanPernis said they reserved extra shuttles and parking space at the Truckee airport to support a possible overflow of parking needs.

And while VanPernis said she hopes the Dew Tour will bring a great deal of business to Northstar and their Village shops, she also anticipates the event benefiting the whole area.

“It’s exciting, not just for us, but for the whole North Shore,” she said. “A lot of businesses in the area will benefit from the event.”
