Dining for Schools Card on Sale Now
Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundations Dining for Schools Cards are on sale now. Dining for Schools cards save the cardholder 50 percent at participating restaurants in the Tahoe-Truckee area. The cards, a major fundraiser for Excellence in Education, cost $45 and are valid at 40 area restaurants through Dec. 11, 2008 and April 19 through June 11, 2009. Select restaurants honor the card during an extended period of Jan. 4 through April 11, 2009. The cards are available at all Back to School Nights, Porters Sport locations (Tahoe City, Truckee andamp; Incline Village), Save Mart (Tahoe City) and Safeway (Truckee andamp; Kings Beach), Mountain Hardware and online at http://www.exined.org. Please call 550-7984.This is the 15th year for Dining for Schools, which raises more than $50,000 for the Foundation every year. Funds from the program go directly back to local school programs through grants. Participating restaurants are: Baxters Bistro andamp; Lounge, Blue Agave, Blue Onion Caf and Catering, Caliente, Christy Hill, Cottonwood, Dragonfly, El Toro Bravo, Evergreen, Fiamma, Fifty-Fifty Brewing Co., Fireside Pizza, Gar Woods Grill and Pier on the Lake, Grahams at Squaw Valley, Jakes on the Lake, Jasons Beachside Grille, Las Panchitas, The Lodge at Tahoe Donner, Mamasake, Mikuni Japanese Restaurant andamp; Sushi Bar, Montagna at Squaw Creek, Moodys Bistro andamp; Lounge, Pacific Crest, Pianeta, PlumpJack Caf, River Grill, River Ranch, Rosies Caf, Rubicon Pizza, Sandys Pub at Squaw Creek, Six Peaks Grille at Squaw Creek, Sol y Lago, The Soule Domain, Summit Restaurant at Soda Springs, Sunnyside, Twenty Two Bistro andamp; Bar, Village Pizzeria, West Shore Caf andamp; Inn on the Lake, Wolfdales and Zanos.The Dining for Schools card program is one of three key fundraisers for the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation. Other fundraising programs include Golfing for Schools and Skiing for Schools. The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that supports quality education with the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Each year the Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and educational community as a whole.
