District budget on agenda for Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club

Sun Staff Report

TAHOE CITY ” Parties on two sides of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District’s lakeside education controversy are scheduled to make their case in Tahoe City Tuesday.

Superintendent Steve Jennings and Robert Mowris, an advocate of the push to recall three TTUSD board members, are set to address the First Tuesday Breakfast Club at 7 a.m. at Granlibakken Resort.

Each is scheduled to receive 20 minutes, Jennings on the plan to improve the district’s educational system at the lakeside, and Mowris on looking to a different approach.

Mowris has expressed displeasure with the school district board’s decision to reconfigure the lakeside schools, which he says will hinder the TTUSD’s academics and will increase costs.
