Donner Pass Road closure starts this week
TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Donner Pass Road will be closed to through traffic during the evening and early morning from Tuesday night through Friday, officials announced this week, as construction continues on the Truckee Depot Streetscape Improvement Project.
According to the town of Truckee, construction of the crosswalk near the train depot begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday; the road will be closed at the crosswalk from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday through Friday.
Through traffic will be rerouted through Jibboom Street; access to parking areas long Commercial Row will remain open.
Project improvements include new sidewalks and amenities, and the new crosswalk, all aimed at improving pedestrian safety in the often-busy area.
