Driver in fatal Highway 267 crash identified

The Placer County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver of the one-car fatal crash on Highway 267 that occurred June 19 at 1:20 a.m.

Ricardo Fuerte-Galicia, 25 of Truckee, was driving northbound, just south of Northstar Drive, at an unknown speed when he lost control of his 1990 Chevrolet, crossed into the southbound lane and ran off the west roadway edge, according to police reports.

The vehicle hit a large tree and ignited, inflicting fatal injuries on the driver and leaving him unidentifiable until this week, according to reports.
