Driver recovering from injury accident

A woman injured in a head-on collision on Glenshire Drive last Friday sustained serious injuries and remains in Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment.

Bridget Ahuna, who had recently moved to Truckee, has been found at fault for colliding with the other driver, an unidentified Truckee juvenile who did not sustain any injuries, Truckee Police said in a department news release.

On Dec. 21 at approximately 10 a.m., emergency personnel removed Ahuna from the burning vehicle and she was transported from the scene by Care Flight. She suffered two broken legs and other serious injuries, Truckee Police Sgt. Jason Litchie said in the release.

“Ahuna’s vehicle, a Mercedes sedan, was not equipped with chains, which would have been required on the snowy roadway for any 2-wheel drive vehicle,” Litchie said in the release.
