Dunbar, Lolly

Lolly worked her way through the Oklahoma College for Women by playing piano for entertainment venues. After graduating she worked as a school and piano teacher in California, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

In 1968, she moved to Truckee and married Stephen Dunbar in Reno, Nev., on May 31, 1968. She taught piano in Truckee for 27 years. She would also play piano for Sunday church services, weddings, and funerals.

She moved to Lafayette, Colo., in 1995 and retired from teaching to be a full-time grandmother. She enjoyed bird watching, and feeding particularly cardinals, which were her favorite. Although there are no cardinals in Colorado, her house was full of the ones she’d been given or collected over the years.

She loved to socialize and had a knack for slot machines in Reno, Nev. and Blackhawk, Colo. But most of all she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be very much missed by her children and especially by her granddaughter, Stephanie, with whom she would play weekly games of Kismit.

Services will be held on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Tabernacle, 1310 W. 49th St., Tulsa, Okla., 74107. Contact (918) 446-2098. Her ashes are to be spread at Green Hill Memorial Cemetery in Sapulpa, Okla.
