E.E. (Skeet) Thompson, Jr.

Born April 26, 1918 in West Point, Miss. Died peacefully at home Feb. 23 in Kings Beach, Calif. He is survived by his wife Peggy of 65 years and his children Brad Thompson, Phil Thompson and his wife Sheila, and Suzanne Sergi and her husband Ron and grandson Travis. Skeet bought property in Kings Beach in 1948 and made Lake Tahoe their permanent home in 1952. He then became a building contractor in the late 1950s and was a member of Truckee Masonic Lodge #200, Scottish Rite in Sacramento and the Methodist Church. He was chairman of Nevada Rainbow Girls Grand Assembly. Family and friends are welcome for visitation Friday, Feb. 29 from 1- 7p.m. at Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary at 10126 Church Street in Truckee. Call (530) 587-4342 for more information. Family and friends are also invited to attend the funeral service on Sat. March 1 at 2 p.m. at Sierra Bible Church, 11460 Brockway Rd. in Truckee. The committal service will take place on Monday, March 3, at 10 a.m. at Masonic Memorial Gardens, 437 Stoker Ave. in Reno.
