TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; Bus passes for the 2012-2013 school year are on sale, and early bird savings will be in effect until Aug. 31, after which an annual bus pass will cost $15 more per student.

Applications must be submitted each year, but if a child attended TTUSD last year, it is not necessary to submit or take a new photo; the childand#8217;s school photo from last fall will be used on the bus pass. Applications may be purchased online at http://www.ttusd.org with a credit or debit card or printed out from the TTUSD website and mailed in to the transportation office with payment.

If a student did not have a TTUSD school picture taken last year, he or she may still submit an application online or by mail, but will need to send a photo via e-mail or have one taken at the transportation office. For individuals who do not have access to a computer, applications must be submitted in person.

Students requiring a free or reduced bus pass will need to apply in person. Processing dates are being offered at many school sites in the district.

TTUSD Transportation personnel request individuals arrive with their applications completed, if possible; applications may be downloaded on the districtand#8217;s website at http://www.ttusd.org/transportation.

The TTUSD bus fleet, which is equipped with GPS units and card readers, allows transportation officials to determine in real time when and where students get on and off the bus, and has proven to be a valuable safety feature for the district, according to Nanette Rondeau, TTUSDand#8217;s director of transportation.

All students must have a personalized 2012-2013 bus pass in their possession in order to ride the school bus to and from school. All passes must be purchased in advance and bus drivers will not accept cash.

No students will be denied transportation at any bus stop in the morning unless they have lost their transportation privileges. Master bus schedules are posted on the districtand#8217;s website. Following is the address to purchase passes by mail or in person: TTUSD Transportation Maintenance and Operations, 12485 Joerger Drive, Truckee, CA 96161.
