For yet-to-be-determined reasons, California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Prisco said the Omaha, Neb., driver drifted onto the shoulder, up a dirt embankment and overturned at about 6 a.m. The driver received minor to moderate injuries, he said.

The accident happened in the construction zone narrowed down to one lane of traffic, Prisco said, and emergency personnel had to move the moveable barriers to get to the semi truck and extract the driver.

Traffic was diverted to Highway 89 north and Highway 267 during the closure, Prisco said.

With the interstate reopened, Prisco said traffic was still heavy as of 9 a.m.
