Education association looks to November Board election

TRUCKEE ” The Tahoe Truckee Education Association has activated its Political Action Committee to rally and support school board candidates for the November election.

The committee, or Citizens for Better Education, have selected two candidates who say they strive to communicate and empower the teachers, Ed Hilton, committee chair, said in a previous interview with the Sun.

Sixteen-year Truckee resident Kirsten Livak will vie for the Area 2 position against incumbent Monty Folsom, and 24-year district resident Lisa Mohun will compete board member Nancy Gisko’s Area 4 position.



School district staff and community members interested in learning more about the candidates, contributing to the campaign or signing the petition for a fair an equitable contract can visit the committee’s Web site at http://www.citizensforbettereducation.net.
