TAHOE CITY, Calif. — The Tahoe Music Institute is excited to welcome a new cello instructor, Kyla Davidson, to it its team of qualified instructors. Currently a member of the Boise Philharmonic, Davidson began playing the cello at 7-years-old and has since studied with various teachers including Keiko Ying, a cello professor at Eastman School of Music, and Samuel Smith at the College of Idaho.
She has competed and performed nationally and internationally during her career, both as a soloist and with quartets and orchestras. Kyla has taught privately for eight years and mentored many young artist groups at the Sun Valley Summer Symphony festival in Idaho over the last three years.
“I’m thrilled to join the team of instructors at Tahoe Music Institute,” said Davidson. “Contributing to community-based music education enriches me as a teacher but also as someone who wants to see arts and culture thrive in the Lake Tahoe area.”
Kyla will be teaching cello lessons at the Tahoe Music Institute, located at 2810 Lake Forest Road in Tahoe City, working closely with TMI director Shauna Righellis to promote chamber music for young string musicians in the area.
For lessons or joining string ensembles, please contact the Tahoe Music Institute at 530) -581-0618 or visit http://www.tahoemusicinstitute.com.
