Tahoe League for Charity held its April 13th meeting at Dockside 700 Lakefront Grill in Tahoe City. The speakers for the day were Mindy Carbajal, executive director for the Boys & Girls Club, and Colleen Munson Kelley, sponsor and supporter from the Munson Family Foundation.

The Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe provides programs throughout the year for our North Tahoe and Truckee youth, serving the community and improving our world one child at a time.

The North Tahoe facility was started in 1998. It has grown to serve 1,019 children per year and 312 per day for youth from 3 years to 18 years of age.

The club offers after-school care during the school year plus has a new pre-school kindergarten readiness program. An additional facility with after-school care has now opened at the Truckee Elementary School campus serving the Truckee community.

A dynamic summer program from June 22 to August 28 includes Kinder Camp, Summer Day Camp, Specialty Camps, and Teen Camp.

The exciting specialties feature art, disc golf, soccer, standard golf, Lacrosse, tennis, musical theater, Lego robotics, basketball, culinary skills and an aviation camp supported by the Truckee Tahoe Airport.

Participating youth are inspired to realize their full potential in a fun and productive environment.
